  • Wow what a real nice web-site you have!

    You are so talented!

It's no wonder you don't do pottery and videos all the time, you do such wonderful work you must be real busy keeping up.

Thank you so much for sharing!

  • Very nice to see you again!

    Another great interesting video!

My husband would love to see how those calls

come out! He keeps saying he thinks he would like to get a lathe.

Do you turn pens also, hence your name?

I have always loved Burle wood, since I first saw the 5 pc antique bedroom set my mother in-law has. Thanks for sharing about the resin or soak you use, I've always wondered about that.

You'll have to let me know if you like the reverse stamps, I've sure enjoyed mine.

  • When I was making the video, I couldn't remember who told me that. :o( I should have given you the credit. Sorry.

Let your husband get the lathe. It's kind of like throwing clay. You start with a chunk of wood and out comes something really neat. Sometimes.............. :o) Yes, I do pens but no one I know makes money on them since , to do it right, you must put a lot of time into them. WalMart (China) sells a year's supply of pens for same price.

  • Thank you Tom not nessisary on credit, not really my original idea I'm sure, Just really glad you'er looking into it.

Very nice of you to write. The pen thing is alot like pottery in this area! We'll be looking into a lathe, looks like great fun.

  • Penn State Industries and Hut Products are two good sources for supplies on line. If you decide to go with a small lathe, remember that you can make small things on a big lathe but can't make big things on a small lathe....

  • Wow, those calls are beautiful. I sent the clip to my father. Im sure he will enjoy seeing them. he has done quite a bit of hunting using different calls...I hope you will share the results of the glaze firing. cant wait to see how the braided handle comes out, and the piece that you used the colored slip on too. keep up the good work!

  • Thanks! I will do the clip when I finally glaze them all. I guess I'll do the bisque firing this week. Everyone likes the deer calls that I make but many say 'they are too good to take into the woods'. Ha ha.

  • Just beautiful! You are very talented with both wood and clay. I really enjoy your videos and watch them all the way through. Your attention to the details shows and for being what you would call a beginner...well...I never would believe that in a second! ;) PS I send bottlewasher37..can't wait for the kiln openings!

  • Thanks for all the nice comments. I enjoy doing the videos as well as watching them.

  • The grain on the calls is amazing isn't it? It almost looks like a glaze. p.s. I always wondered what your screen name meant, a visit to your webpage cleared that up, lol.

  • Your work looks great! Can't wait to see the kiln opening!

The pattern on the duck calls really is beautiful isn't it. Now I'm curious how those sound!

  • Thanks for the comments! I answered earlier but it didn't get posted for some reason. You gave me a good idea to put some sound files on my website so people can hear how the duck and deer calls sound. I'm not an expert at using them, just making them. Ha.
