  • Does everyone remember mimicking their game after Michael when growing up?

  • @johnnyjr2345

today's NBA players (especially Kobe) model their game after MJ. Even average guys like myself we used to go to the playground and reenact his best moments. Like the buzzer beater against Cleveland (with Craig Ehlo)...The last shot in Utah against Russell...it was fun....

  • those 3 dislikes can't afford to buy jordan shoes!

  • 4:00 charlie wards like" fuck that..fuck this game"

  • lol MJ is wearing his famous AIR JORDAN 1

  • i remember watching this game, i still got it on vhs :)

  • Michael Jordan is truly gifted he really is.

  • Man, I really miss this NBC intro of the NBA......

  • do you have the entire game? id like to see some in between stuff. Thanks a lot!

  • man, Isiah was annoying as shit.

  • @Rippedtoshredds23 he was,he was hating on Jordan big time .....Bob Costas corrected him everytime

  • I really wished that people (most people at least) knew how important scottie pippen was

  • i miss the nbc music =/

  • The good old dayz, when chi-town owned NYC.

  • wow, michael is actually wearing jordan 1's this game.. taking it oldschool

  • if i had a nickel for every time kobe can do what jordan could do, i'd have nothing.

  • @Supersonicsfan12 If I had a quarter for every comment that polished Jordan's balls to the point of ridiculousness, I'd make Bill Gates look like a pauper.

  • Comment removed

  • kobe will forever be under jordan. dont even try to compare them. kobe has had a great career but mike is on another level.

  • yeah i just noticed ewing wasn't playing that game.

but it wouldn't have mattered too much.

  • at 8:24-8:28 jordan looks like kobe!!!!!!!!

  • @WEINTMAN what the hell you talking about?

  • 10:33 you want it? take it bi'ch

  • where's Ewing? was he injured during that game?

  • "nothin more beatiful than watching him play"

  • I'm a huge Knicks fan but mike was the greatest, can't believe these dumb comparisons with him and Lebron, it's not even a conversation!

  • the only person i have ever seen give mj problems were joe dumars

  • mj = greatest

  • no one can stop MJ

    EVER!

  • lol 1000 for a single ticket now i heard it was 53000 in some courtside seats

  • NBA ON NBC IS THE BEST, SO MUCH MEMORIES

  • i just love how dennis rodman threw his towel at the old lady in the stands at 10:32

    :D

  • this is awome, I recon there should be a DVD made up of these 10 min highlight vids from all the best Bulls games of the 90's

  • mike wearing the old school j's

  • who is that dumb hater that punched the ball thru the net at 3:40, that bum messed up jordan's highltight! blasphemous

  • 2:18 True!

  • 8:57 i just laughed out loud because i didnt know what else to do

  • @3:09 - 3:12 just a 2 man game. yeah baby.

  • Did everyone who says Scottie is overrated hear what isiah said at 3:33 "everytime Jordan had a big game Pippen is the one who kills you" basically stating.. that when Jordan had monstrous numbers its because of Pippens Tenacious and aggressiveness which causes him to attract attention which lol.. opens up Jordan to just Demolish you

  • The Knicks would have won at least two championships in the 90's.......If Jordan didn't exist.

  • @ElTuco84

well they failed when he was playin baseball.

  • I watched this because i wanted to see Jordan wearing the OG Air Jordan I :)

  • @Shadowmx88 yea me 2!!

  • I really miss NBA on NBC. The theme was great and got you pumped up for the game.

  • If Mike was still young like back in 97/98 Kobe wouldn't be able to touch him! Mike would be dominating the game still today!

  • @Major2219

Young as in 34/35 years old? LOL. But I agree Jordan would dominate.

  • @retecoomoati HOW is he a better overall athlete & player? What metrics are you using? You're talking yourself into a corner right now.

  • @upabittoolate eh as he said in the vid, "lots of guys are strong, and lots of guys have skill and only one guy has this level of artistry".. MJ was that guy... better overall athlete not sure what retecoomoati is referring to but MJ's finishing in the paint with both left and right hands is something to watch... Kobe doesnt use his left much.. I give MJ still the better overall player coz his offense wasnt just complete but also his defense. Kobe's defense only stepped up recently.

  • @dv3ga MJ was definitely a player who took the game to another dimension. There's no arguments there. But that wasn't my argument. Physically, Kobe is a tad bit quicker & smoother, I'm not sure why people think it's a knock on MJ to say that.

Kobe uses his left when necessary to finish but nowhere near as much as MJ. In truth, anything MJ ever did with his left cones from watching Scottie; he's said that on many occasions. You'd think having Odom on his squad would teach Kobe the same way.

  • @upabittoolate physically a tad bit quicker and smoother... hey thats your opinion... he was more explosive than Kobe to me, I've watched enough of both MJ and Kobe to see that MJ's prime was a tad quicker than Kobe. Smoother, like the commentator said no ones got this level of artistry and I still believe that. This vid alone showed an array of shots, Kobe is a way better dribbler than MJ may your referring to that but in the air, to the lane no way or post up still MJ for me...

  • @dv3ga It's not my opinion it's the truth. But you'd have to actually understand basketball & have watched MJ (I watched every game I could in CHICAGO) to understand what I mean.

  • @upabittoolate oh so you think you know better and the truth coz u understand and watched him more... like i said that is ur opinion and thats in your own eyes and that was my opinion and my own eyes, u obviously think ur an espn/tnt analyst since its the truth.. typical that you'd dismiss what I'm sayin and think that im ignorant.... if it was the truth then back it up... dont be arrogant and act like a obssessed Kobe fan... name a series in the playoffs that you can compare Kobe's with MJ's.

  • @upabittoolate C'mon compare a significant playoff game wid Kobe and MJ... besides the 63 against Boston, how about the 56 against Miami or possibly his 55 in the finals.

  • @upabittoolate MJ Playoffs against Kobe Playoffs, MJ has had more spectacular plays and stats to go along with that. You wana talk spring in your step, 63 against Boston in the 1 round 86'. Now you watch that series. You tell me who's got a better spring in there step. I still have yet to find a game from Kobe to compare with the number of different shots, double pumps and incredible shots in the lane. Kobe has put a up big numbers of which most are from outside the lane.

  • @upabittoolate Kobe can shoot over anyone any day, but MJ took it to the lane like no other without the body of a Lebron James against more skilled and physical bigs than today. And ur right Mike did spend his 2nd career posting up and fading away which he mastered and of which now Kobe is doing.

  • @dv3ga Kobe has been a lockdown defender since their 1st championship. What are you talking about?

  • @retecoomoati Sure it is. Kobe had MJ's 1st step as a model. He can't help BUT do it faster by virtue of that. It's nice to be a fan. So am I, I'm from Chi & I grew up then. But an analyst must be objective while recognizing fact & nuance. Kobe's era is faster than MJ's. MJ used the jabs quite a bit. Kobe added another dimension to that move by throwing in the triple threat rocker-step.

If you're gonna talk basketball, KNOW the game & BE objective. Right now you're just being a fan.

  • @upabittoolate Kobes era is faster, right, and also boring at times due to dumbass rules put in place. Too many stoppages and whining. Let me ask you something, besides dwight howard, whos the most dominant defensive bigs out there compared to MJ's era. MJ took it to the lane like no other, explosive, Kobe is not as explosive as much and MJ took a beating from Ewing, Oakley, Mourning, Olajuwon, Robinson even Shaq. Faster, MJ in his prime was just as fast.

  • @dv3ga There aren't any defensive bigs because the league is designed for higher scoring these days. Athletically, Kobe is has a li'l more spring & he's a li'l quicker. So we can't really make that comparison.

Don't forget that Mike spent his 2nd career posting up & fading away.

  • @upabittoolate more spring c'mon, Majority of MJ's points in his prime where driving to the lane, a one on one shootout i'd take Kobe anyday, but one on one to the basket when MJ was in his prime MJ anyday.

  • @dv3ga well kobe is a better shooter because of handcheck free. Imagine your shooting with a forearm in front of your face but MJ still managed making shots. I wonder if kobe could still be a good shooter. Let alone the many great jump-shooter defender.

  • @TheSaladBoi He'd still be the better shooter reardless of the hand check rule. MJ had to develop his. Its only until his second comin that his shooting started to really become effective.

  • @dv3ga kobe started his shooting skills when he enter the league up to present while MJ is inside drive. Maybe you noticed that kobe has less inside drive than MJ. But if we're to reverse the situation can you say that kobe still the best shooter.. hell no.

  • @dv3ga no kobe is a good shooter but i think i think jordan is way better post player than kobe. in kobe shoots to many threes

  • Surprised there was no comment about Jordan's '85 Air Jordans.

  • 4:08 honor to get the ball out of the basket from a shot like that..

  • Michael Jordan , Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. Really awesome to watch these players in a team. Teamwork everything.

  • @6:00 poor charles oakley haha

  • this is the nba on nbc! damn I miss watching the nba on nbc

  • i wanna b like mike! lol!

  • 4:52. I thought this move was a Kobe original. Turns out Jordan's mined that territory, too.

  • @leeknows1

You saw that one on freecourts quite often these days...

  • at 6:10 he shook the hell outta oakley

  • How funny that the Knicks almost had him?

  • I miss NBA on NBC

  • ceck Rodman at 10:34 :)

  • someone may have pointed it out but isnt Jordan wearing AJ1's

  • he is

  • @buzzpuppet yea and ron harper is wearing the 13s

  • man i remeber watchin this game wen i was10 year old i remeber it like it was yesterday. MJ=GOAT

  • I love the intro for the bulls. The song is awsome.

  • I've never seen any team like Chicago.

They were so intelligent on the court, so strong mentally.

IN 1998 Chicago was one of the oldest teams in the NBA and they were still able to win the championship.

  • @Jumpman1989

You're absolutely right. And they knew what was they job. And they did it. No doubt, great team, great coach.

  • ohh my goodness!

  • 10:34 LOL! look at wat rodman does

  • kobe is arrogant, pampered and spoiled yet he is one of the most skilled players in the histroy of the game, but those three words i described r the reasons why he is second fiddle.

with jordan he was as real as it could get

  • i just love it wen he scores or mainly when he makes a jumper in someones face and when hes coming back on defense and when he is running back he has his hands spread open example of this is at 1:41 i like it cuz its like he scores and its as if hes like "damn that was nasty" or like "yuck, that was sick. i dont want the ball anymore" lol gotta love MJ. u just have to

  • man thats an awesome comment, lol mj walking back down the court thinking ''did i just do that, man im good.. nobody can stop''

  • 8:56 just sick!!!!!!!!!

  • 7:20 the patented Pippen "swim move" to steal the post entry lob. I swear just about every game you've uploaded has Pippen making that same steal. It was like clockwork and it always turned into a 3 pointer or a dunk. It amazes me how no other player to this day has duplicated Pippen's defensive moves.

  • LOL. Scottie Pippen had trademark moves just like WWF wrestlers back in the day. In just about every game you could count on a Pippen-steal-pull-up-three combo at just the right time.

  • Kobe's a better ball handler?

    Career T.O.'s: MJ 2.53 > KB 2.91

    Career T.O.'s Per 40 Mins: MJ 2.75 > KB 3.22

    Lowest T.O.'s Per 40 Season: MJ 2.1 > KB 2.8

Highest T.O.'s Per Game Season: MJ 3.5 > KB 4.1

Career Assist to T.O. Ratio: MJ 1.93 > KB 1.46

Highest Assist to T.O. Season: MJ 2.57 > KB 1.96

Where's kobe's "better" handles when it matters? MJ ranks 16th All Time in T.O. pg, despite having the HIGHEST usage rate in history. He's among those with the LOWEST T.O. %'s in history!

  • If y'all honestly believe that this idiot named "upabittoolate" is actually 33 yrs old, then y'all are dumber than he is LOL!!

He's just another one of these dumb, frontin' ass kobe homers.. The uninformed, ignorant-arrogant nature of his "claims" tell U EVERYTHING about his position on the matter LOL!!

  • yea i guess i was stupid haha.

see now he totally shuts up i knew after his second comment that he just wants to stirs thing up. i usually ignore people like that but he is such an asshole that i couldnt help.

a waste of time for sure.

  • The only player that could compare to Jordan`s first step was James worthy on the post. On the ofense and on defense Jordan`s speed was unparalleled. Even lightning players like Spud Webb couldn`t keep up with Jordan`s quickness. Compared to the eighties and nineties nowdays basketball is much slower and predictable.

  • Jordan was makin almost every thin' in this game &

Pippen had a gud game himself

    3:12

    3:39

  • you should say 97-98 season, its confusing I know because some may think its the 98-99 season, where they werent there anymore

  • i wonder who rodman and harper were messing around with at the 10:34 mark..

  • oops sorry it was a spin on ward...

  • thanx for the upload, but how did u not include jordans spin and dunk around houston to end the 1st half?

  • Sometimes I have horrible luck when it comes to a VHS tape messing up on a great play and that play you mentioned was one of the casualties lol. For some reason my Bulls/Knicks games seem to mess up at the worst possible time.

  • probably because you kept rewinidng it and watching it over and over again.... haha jk

  • Actually that probably is the reason lol.

  • @Scottie33Pippen thats a good reason jordan in pippen are monsters

  • mj is more quick and clever!!!

thats the difference but why is the goat!!!

  • Can you imagine being a part of a team where you knew that, no matter what the other team had, what they threw at you, you had the most potent offensive weapon in the game on your side? Not to mention the demonic defence. No wonder the Bulls were such a confident team.

  • 3:35 is just sick. I was 15 when this game was played, it was shown around 1am in the UK. My brother woke me up the next morning just to tell me bout the game, he was psyched cos of the amount of retro moves MJ pulled off.

Unbelievable body control and concentation...and strength to absorb the blow and get the shot off. No bank either. Love seein the reaction from the bench, it just never got old seeing this kind of thing from the GOAT.

  • Very nice edit

    great job

  • I have this game on VHS. I taped a lot of their games 96-98

  • please post them on youtube if you can! thank you

  • Gotta love the fact that he wore the original Air Jordans.

  • Look at that NY team compared to the team Kobe and LeBron at putting up numbers against! There is no way on earth Kobe would be able to do what MJ did here at this age!

  • i think all the former players(even headcoachs) who became commentators are more bias when it comes to being objective from an observer stand point. also who knows what kind of instructions nba gives out to the tv stations about how to hype up certain things? i think we all watched enough nba to know that jordan is the only player that is amazing consistently throughout his career.

by the way i wish bob has more chance to commentate game like he used to. sick of those biased ones.

  • Haha, Buechler and Wennington are great...As Isiah once said..these two have the best job in the world !!!!!Getting paid for being able to witness MJ's greatness every game

  • "Nothing more beautiful than watching HIM play...."

Well, I never played in the NBA but I just can't understand how guys like Ceballos and even Steve Smith can say that "With MJ you knew what was coming but you just could not stop it".

They talk as if Kobe had more weapons than MJ...which is ridiculous IMO.

  • kobe has a few more weapons? like what?like his ultra cool tattoo, his slow motion footwork, and the low % 3pt? or the and 1 dribble?

hahaha please doesnt seem like you are being sarcastic here at all.

to say that you are either too young or you dont understand basketball at all.

  • nigga how is sum1 sayin there from chicago and grew up watching mike idiotic what u jst said was fuckin stupid bruh, so when i tell people im from brooklyn new york i guess thats idiotic right ???

  • damn another suburb kobe fan trying 2 diss ma nigga michael

  • because i dont care about the argument ur having all i was talking about was how sayin ur from chciago isnt idiotic aight, i dont have time for anymore mj kobe arguments i dont care anymore mikes legacy speaks for itself GOAT

  • we could easily get int the mj kobe argument and i brng the facts then say what mike does better and how kobes defense is overrated due 2 his slow foot speed etc. but i dont wanna get into that because im a big fan of kobe & like wathcing kobe so i cant be bothered man

  • i never said anything on teh kobe mj stuff, i said how is it idiotic when sum1 reps there city sayin where there from and they got 2 grow up wathcing mike you sounding idiotic right now bruh

  • it had nothing to with kobe/mj question thats between u and that other dude

  • u still dont get it i didnt mention basketball i was talkin about his comment not being a stupid comment

  • oh yea you are extremely familiar with jordan.. like a lot of us in here?

really shut the fuck up. dont give me that crap growing up in the same city with jordan and blah blah blah. chicago has michael but also has a lots of rapist and assholes so that doesnt do the justice.common sense tells me that you are wrong. the way you 'prove' yourself to be a jordan expert is extremely naive and inadequate. tell me actually fact of how kobe actually has a few more weapon than jordan.

  • "kobe has a few more weapons."

    Like what? Please explain?

Whenever kobe apologist, homers, etc. make these kinda' comments, longtime, true fans of the sport, who watched MJ's ENTIRE career, just sit in bewilderment..

I'd simply just like for U to detail for me, what offensive "weapons" does kobe currently have, that MJ didn't..

    Again, please elaborate..

  • @ upabittoolate

KB has the quickest 1st step? Please tell me you're kidding.. KB isn't exactly know for his speed or quickness. Are you taking conclusions over this video in particular? Cause you might have an argument there. MJ's 1st step at 35 years old is very comparable to KB's. But in his younger days that's just out of the question. You ever heard of any other player who needed a video breakdown to check if he was traveling while taking his 1st step?

  • @rrTale KB's 1st IS quicker. In fact, he can't help BUT be quicker because he had MJ show him how to use it. In addition, you have to understand that MJ's 1st step is quite different than KB's. KB employs the triple-threat rocker. MJ uses the jab-head-dip-&-go. Besides, MJ got called for a lot of travels early in his career. The modern NBA is not strict on travelling.

You also gotta look at who's guarding who. Speed, as you know, is relative.

  • He was so quick that the players thought he had to be traveling. It was proved he was not in violation of the rulebook. He was just that quick.

KB's superior range is arguable. I for one don't believe in it. He just takes a lot more 3's. Just by looking at his percentageit should be much higher considering how many more he attempts. Taking more you'll make more. That's the trend. It applies not only to Michael Jordan, but Larry Bird, Magic Johnson.

  • "kobe's 1st step is quicker"

LOL!! What?!! That dumb ass comment ALONE tells me you're the TYPICAL kid that didn't even SEE MJ in his prime & are comparing kobe to MJ in his LATTER yrs. That's uttlerly ridiculous!

"kobe's range is a tad bit better"

Shooting MORE long distance shots than the next guy, while ONLY makin' about 45% of 'em, DOES'NT constitute "better range"! That's called POOR shot selection!

He's shot WORSE than his own damn team 12 seasons as a pro. Guess who NEVER has?

  • Show me one video of Kobe speed and i will destroy within mins. Your a dumbass Mj first astep is too fast at age 25.

  • You know you are lying. Mj from 87-92 first step is far superior retard.

  • I think its ridiculous comparing the 2...jordan surpasses kobe dramatically...the main reason is that if kobe went and faced the defenses jordan has, kobe would be a nobody.

  • Kobes "overall" career 3-pt% is only better by 2%!

    Career Playoff 3-pt FG%: MJ 33.2% > 30.1%

    Career Finals 3-pt FG%: MJ: 36.8% > Kobe: 27.2%

Even if U took away MJ's '96 & '97 Finals 3-pt stats due to the shorter line, his % actually goes UP to 40% (27/70)!

    During MJ's 1st 3-peat, he shot 38.7% (55/142) in 3's, B4 it was moved in. During kobe's 3-peat, he shot 36.3% (56/154), AFTER it was moved in.

  • LOL Faster first step??? Stay off the weed and go watch 1987-1992 Mj and see his first step.

  • that doesnt matter dickhead. you can say what ever you want. i had dinner with jordan yesterday and he told me that if i play, i will beat kobe any day. you see the absurdity here? you can say whatever you want in here my friend, to make you sound superior. but god knows you are just buffing. and on top of that, if that logic of yours applies to how one should watch basketball, then none of us has the qualification to tell who is better, except for those from chicago.

  • and people who played with mj should be the authority of how good mj is, like mark jaskson or grey anothony haha(according to your logic) kobe doesnt have a quicker first step( you are out of your fucking mind), his 3p% is higher than jordan but not by much, and he obviously jack it up in so many unnecessary occasions. kobe copies jordan but didn't get everything jordan has and no way he has a few more weapons than jordan.

  • haha i guess i am really stupid to talk to moron like you.

who on earth who has a little common sense would think kobe has a quicker frist step than mj? your personal experience doesnt mean a thing to most of us and really no body gives a crap about. and by the way, who look more stupid? haha you are ridiculous.

  • Your stupid and Mj fist step is way quicker

  • damn 2 me it seems like u keep changing the subject on everything and dont answer the questions u keep talkin mad garbage about nothin' there throwing the facts right at u bruh and u done little to address the content in which has been put infront of u LOL

  • I love how this guy chose to ignore my comments, considering he wants a more analytical approach. I don't recall KB's 1st step ever needing video breakdown, that alone should tell you his 1st step isn't on Jordan's level. We could make a poll right now about it considering only KB fans and I bet 80-90% of them would agree MJ's quicker. That's how ridiculous your claim is, I mean never before have I seen someone arguing that KB's 1st is quicker than MJ's. It just so blatantly isn't. Good God..

  • its funny coz u put all the facts there for him but he ignored it all and kept talkin sum mad ish' hes in his own lil world man lol

  • @upabittoolate You're right. What made MJ different was not physical.

  • @WorldOfSnakes That's ALL I was trying to explain to these guys. KB & MJ are probably identical from the neck down. I might even say that KB is a little rangier while MJ is a little stronger. But what separates the 2 is intuition & competitiveness. It's too bad that everyone is too stupid (or too busy lionizing his favorite player) to be objective about the game & it's players. There's people who just watch the game & there's people who understand it. Most don't truly understand it well.

  • @upabittoolate You're very right.

  • Without Jordan there is no Kobe. Who's game would Kobe have emulated if he didn't have Jordan's game to model his after? The fadeaway, the spin moves, the footwork are all Jordan's trademark moves. The guy was just a gifted scorer who could burn you from anywhere on the court. And this isn't even PRIME Jordan. That's Michael at 35 years old lol.
