Im interested to buy one emjoi epilator but wonders whether it can be used in Singapore as it was produced in US.. maybe there is a voltage difference..Anyone know abt this matter?
i have a question: what if not every part of the skin as hair.....so there is uneven hair growth.....will the epilator pull out your skin? or it just focuses on pulling out the hairs sticking out?
@OnCeUpOnATiMeLoNgAgO I only tried it 1 time, but the first time I put it on my skin I wanted to bring it back (but I didn't). I just strongly recommend you buy it from some where you can return it!!! lol For your under arms it works really well. But over all I think you should try it and see how you like it. Hope I helped! :D
@paandesaal Cause it just pulls the hairs that are sticking up cause it has like 42 tweezers. But if your skin is wrinkly you'll want to stretch it with your fingers before you do it cause it'll pinch your skin if you don't. :)
@xjoeykatiee I think it actually work better on thicker hair because there is less chance of breakage so it has a better grip and pull out hair directly from the root. Hair grows back differently based on the individual but it can last up to 6 weeks or for me its more like 3.
thnx!! the dayi saw ur review on it nd ect. even the video that aubrey posted..i ended up buying the caress light epilator the same day..haha! i tried it on my arms! it AWESOMELY worked! its just 2 days..im alredy like i CANNOT live without my EPILATOR :P eheheh
@colombianita956 That's probably the bes tpart about this epilator you can use it on really short hairs as well. I can usually pull hairs even 2 days after they start growing back.
@thatsyourface :O thats awsum cuz I'm thinking of getting an epilator but I'm trying to learn some more on them.So while I'm asking questions, which epilator do you use/would you recomend
@colombianita956 Well I recently just bought the Emjoi Emagine, which I really like but, its kinda pricey at $80 so if you don't want to spend that much money then try the Emjoi Light Caress. All the emjoi ones are great so find one within that brand and I think it will work well for you.
@CindyVaio The hair grows back slowly so some people it can last up until 5 weeks but for me I start seeing a lot of hair by like 2-3 weeks so I just like to run it up and down my legs just randomly every few days so that it won't all grow back.
@oOpsychochickOo AWWW, thats sucks! Try just soaking your body in a bath for like 15 min so that your skin is so soft then just exfoliate (and i mean scrub your body down to the point that you see dead skin floating) and that should help then you can epilate again after like 12 hours, after that just keep exfoliating.
@oOpsychochickOo Agreed! What am I doing wrong to have such horribly ingrown hairs? I exfoliate everytime I shower. I used to wax and it was never that bad.
@sakuraness Don't worry initially I had a huge problem too but, now it fine. Along with exfoliating you may want to try epilating at different angles, for example epilating up and down and in circle may cause more ingrown hairs so maybe just try epilating in one direction. Hope that helps!
Is there any way to prevent the hair from cutting off? After I epilated there were so much hair that got cut off instead of pulled out from the root and it feels so stumbly when I run my hand over. It just doesn't give me that smooth feeling hair removal cream and waxing do. Any tip on that?
@turtledove90 That happens to me sometimes when I wait until the hair grows too long and then it ends up breaking my hairs instead of pulling it out from the roots. I would recommend epilating every couples of days so you get the hairs when they first come out, if you epilate shorter hairs then there is less of a chance of it breaking.
@ho0teest um it can go up to 6 weeks but honestly I try to epilate every week as maintenance so that it gets any little hairs that grow back and therefore I dont have to epilate my whole leg in 6 weeks.
Hi, thank You for the video. And I have one question. Do you know anything about using the epilator when there are birthmarks on the area being epilated? Could it be harmful somehow?
does using an epilator hurt cuz must ppl say it hurts alot but u look so comfortable with it n i guess is cuz u've been using it 4 sometime already....?
i wanna buy an epilator the cheapest 1 for now though n i wanna try it.
I don't think it hurts that badly but, I have a high tolerance for pain. If you have really think hair you may bleed a little but nothing major. The pain will definitely become less apparent as you use it more and your hair becomes thinner.
do you ever get ingrown hairs from using this techniques...i always seem to get them with my emjoi(i have the cordless one, but i liked it plugged in better)
@thatsyourface i asked ppl around the mall if they EVER heard of essentials and they never even heard of it in their lives :S r theyre any other stores
@girlgod18 i got mine at canadian tire. sears sells them, wal mart, home outfitters, zellers, shoppers drug mart had a half epi-half razor. im not sure this paricular brand is available in canada, but i guess its worth a shot.
im sorry...ur video is good! but just one thing: chaving you should go with the directtion of the hair growth not against :P and with the epilator it depends on the epilator....some u go the same direction, others u go against...ppl just have to read the instructions that come with the epilator :)
@RawFishSushi Yeah kind of, I use it for my bikini line, but not like a brazillian or anything. First two times it was super painful. but if you hold the skin taut, it doesnt really hurt much. hurts less than waxing I think, and im no blonde fine haired girl haha! also works amazingly for underarms. those who say the pain is bad, hold the skin taut and do it quick, then after about 2 or 3 times its totally fine!
well after you do it for a while the pain eventually dies down a little because the hairs will be less thick and you will be more use to the pain. In the meantime you can try epilating after you shower since your pores will be open or they sometimes recommend before you go waxing to take an advil one hour before...maybe that will work for epilating too.
It shouldn't be the opposite way of your hair growth! You only do that when you're shaving or waxing but you're essentially plucking here. Just do it like you pluck your eyebrows-with the hair so there's less irritation and you'll know the hair will come out completely instead of just the top parts.
i also tweeze/pluck my underarms (but sometimes i shave when i'm lazy.. so maybe that's why most of the hair is still thick instead of fine?). i was just wondering.. do you get a lot of ingrown hair when you do? i also have A LOT of bumps there too =[ eep! please let me know
Yeah, I have tweezed for a while and one time i decided to shave it and it ruined it...my hair grew back thicker...you have to be consistent which is annoying. This may sound weird but, a way to help avoid the ingrown hairs is to exfoliate your armpits (this will help stop the bumps too) and not shave as much.

@paandesaal Cause it just pulls the hairs that are sticking up cause it has like 42 tweezers. But if your skin is wrinkly you'll want to stretch it with your fingers before you do it cause it'll pinch your skin if you don't. :)
