Johnny befriended me when i was very young. He used to come to my small little town in oregon. He played at a little place that they tore down a few years ago called Lindy's. I was just a little kid who in his eyes seen him as a hero. He & June always remembered me, Sent me X-mas cards, and always looked me up when they came to town. I miss them dearly and this video as sad as it is to watch is a testament of the devotion they had for what they did.

It's not that he seems so frail, here. Not that he's so distant, pale and obviously ill. What makes it a hard performance to watch is that the crowd is so detached from what they're witnessing. His last try at pleasing an audience which seems so willing to treat his gift as common and unimportant. Had they known how important this was to him, would they have been more reverent?

I could not agree more. I couldn't believe that woman more worried about a water bottle than what Johnny was saying when he was talking about June. I'll never understand how tuned out people can be, and how self-centered most people are.

She's in the moment -- trying to help the band by giving them some water -- watch the whole show and you'll see Johnny taking a sip or two to lubricate the aged pipes. His voice is powerful even in its weakness. Rest in peace, Johnny, and thanks for what you gave while you were here.

Johnny befriended me when i was very young. He used to come to my small little town in oregon. He played at a little place that they tore down a few years ago called Lindy's. I was just a little kid who in his eyes seen him as a hero. He & June always remembered me, Sent me X-mas cards, and always looked me up when they came to town. I miss them dearly and this video as sad as it is to watch is a testament of the devotion they had for what they did.

Love Johnny and June. Thanks for the video of John's last days. He is truely a great legend. I'm glad to see that he played and did what he loved up till his last days. He just could not bear to be without June. They are 2-gether again at last --as how it should be.
