For example in West Virginia domestic violence is generally a small misdemeanor as long as the battered spouse is not killed. I would imagine that if White was in Texas he would not have been charged with anything. I feel both Joe Horn and John white did the right thing. Unfortunately different states have different firearm laws. I would have reacted the same way as John White did because in that situation I'm not thinking about the state laws, I'm thinking about the safety of my family.

He was directly being threatened on his property .. but that just goes to show how un-equal state laws are. Too bad this didn't happen in Michigan. We have the Castle Doctrine and No-Retreat Legislation. John White would be free today. Anyone at my home, threatening my family is liable to catch a bullet in the ass. John Horn was in no danger at all and could've stayed in his house. However, I've got no problem with what he did. John White was protecting his home and family. Whether you want to call it a lynch mob or not there was a gang of drunken fcks outside his home. They got what they deserved.

If a thief decides to trespass someone's property and steal their things, the thief has to come to the realization that this day and this action may be their last, meaning, DEATH. Think about, if a thief knew that your neighbord has the right to kill them if they break into any houses in the community, there would not be any burglaries.

Joe Horn shot two Colombian criminals but mr White shot a teenager with an illegal unregistered handgun just because his punk ass son was afraid to fight him. The kid was a former friend of mr Whites son and they had a fall out, so his actions are both cowardly and uncalled for. But the teenagers should have known better, U dont go to someones house in the middle of the night acting aggressif like that. So I think Mr White fucked up but personally I think this is a manslaughter not murder.

Lady, the guys in Joe Horn's case had committed a crime, they burgled the house knowing full well they could be shot? Standing on someone's lawn saying your going to do something is slightly different, because they didn't physically do anything.
If I was breaking into someone's home and stealing and the nabour comes out and shoots me, why would I feel hard done by? I knew the risk and broke into that house anyway.

Well in both cases they were protecting their personal property. In the state of Texas it is legal to shoot someone that walks onto your property that you believe is going to harm you. Joe Horn walked outside and they so happened to run in his yard. That gives him the right to shoot.

neither should have been charged with anything. Both men were within their rights. I dont' know what state White lives in, but the state laws have a lot to do with you being charged or not. I would imagine that if White was in Texas he would not have been charged with anything. I live in Indiana and I would probably be charged with something for going outside to confront people in my yard after being told not to by a dispatcher.
