For Some reason I cannot drag and drop a sample into motu. Does it have to be a wav file or can it be mp3... Also i can load them in the clip window but if i close the clip window the sample will play but i can see the wave form in the window.
this shit is stressing me out , sampling is gonna take my music to another level and since i cant do it my shit is suffering majorly i need all the fucking help i can get hit me up 240 565 7190 nay help is better than no help
why is it not letting me drag tracks that where ripped into my music library in to the sample box but any track that i have done with bpm it allows im mind boggled once again? can you help
Yes.. The MV of course takes less time I agree, that's why I love hardware.. but Motu BPM is an excellent addition.. Tracktiion I have never tried any of Mackie's software, but samplitude is good, I'm not sure if they make it anymore I though samplitude 10 was the last one..
Yes, you can record mono samples.. just select your BPMsampler. icon next to BPM adn the 2 track sampler pops up and you can select mono or stereo.. When you say poly are you talking about adjusting the poly of the each sample?
yo thats the EXACT info im looking for right now. im real used to the mpc and i like the poly feature. i also got BPM now, but im still having that one poly issue
No it does not come with hardware, but you can use practically any hardware to control it... The cost is $279 this is the reason why it doesn't come with hardware.. But it is worth every penny..
YEAH!! It does kill battery , as I have battery 3, plus I can drag certain .wav samples from battery an drop in motu BPM.. it's nice.. I have the MV controlling BPM..
BPM is much easier to use, you have better FX (comp, limiter, reverb, etc..) to screw up your sound, bigger library of sounds, you can add any sounds.. BPM is a standalone with routing features, and sync. I can route BPM to my sample or out of my interface into a mixer and then resample back into BPM if I choose..Drag n drop any .wav, mp3s, etc.. files right into Motu's BPM.. QUICKER loading time of samples..battery is a bad ass deal, But MOTU is much cleaner with an option to dirty it up...
yo fam, this program is sick!! i been on it all day.the videos help. i do everything out of pro tools and this just makes it that easier!! i love the drag and drop! i still need to get this better, but the videos help a lot.
Your welcome.. If you need any help just hit me up... I'm working on another video of BPM which I think A LOT of people will like... Thanks again.. if you need help assigning samples/pads to your PT mixer channels let me know..
BPM can read .WAVs, mp3s, Motu's Mach five, Ethno and UVI sound sources.. BPM can sample sounds from hardware keyboards, you can import Midi files in BPM by drag n drop..
good videos. question though... why perpetuate samples of violence? both of your videos are using samples about gangsters and killing. you don't sound like a killer. when murder effects your fam and friends its no longer fun to continue the associations of violence that are associated with rap. we need to redefine the music, not continue it. thanks homey.
I have no idea, if it's better.. For $320 more it should be.. The maschine comes with a very detailed pad controller that is designed for NI maschine software. I think you won't it all the use of features if you don't use the software. The MPD32 I can send you the mapped out parameters to control the functions of BPM..If you decide to get it
Yes you can still use FL Piano roll, you will have to route it to FL or BPM for both your questions here.. However it would be easier to jsut insert BPM and sequence BPM then route the outputs to FL as audio or Midi tracks.. its up to you
You can simply click and highlight each part you want.. rumor has it, slicing is in the next update along with some other things. you have to drag tthe highlighted parts to the pads for now.
I hope they paying you because you convinced me to buy this over macshine.Due to the ability to use my own mpc 3000 & keyboard to control it. plus it's cheaper & comes with 10 gig more sounds. BTW, how are the preloaded samples?
The samples are great.. I just made a video and sent it to another person just about the sounds.. BTW, they are not paying me.. Another company did, for my other videos.. Yeah you made a good choice, with the MPC3000 and keyboard, there is no need for the Maschine, honestly there is no need for the BPM too, but it works great with my MV8000.. I use BPM to sequence the drums and I still use my MV for those gritty samples and use my keyboard to control the filters and midi instruments of BPM..
Nothing as wack as a lazy producer ..No reason to complain about a auto-chop if you can chop a sample just as fast with the sample editor..Ive heard a lot of cats whine about this but its not like they wont add it shortly ..Good job sir , Im glad you hopped on making a vid so fast to show everyone that is waiting for thier copy in the mail impatiently :)
Thanks.. More videos are too come, Yes I have tried this out with the Akai MPD32 and it beats my korg Pk hands down (only using the BPM software) The akai can control more functions of the BPM than the KORG pk.. if you got the MPD32 then your pretty much set.. Now all you need is the BPM
I just my BPM yesterday and going to install it today. Got any suggestions for a smooth install on a mac? I'm also planning to transfer the ilok license to my already owned ilok.
I checked out your website, pretty nice, but I did have a problem watching the bpm video. There is sound only, no video.
Thanks for the comment.. my website is currently being remodeled, it should be up an running tomorrow, I will be posting more videos.. I have had some ilok issues in the past.. but it worked out fine, as for the install, mac and pc has a smooth install with no problems. If for some unknown reason you have problems hit me up and I will get you thru those, but EXPECT no problems..
Yes, the synths or racks have their own mixer, effects, editor is the piano roll.. you can export a mono or stereo file, as for actually splitting them up where exporting is a L+R = two seperate tracks, I don't know. I have never tried it.. I can look into it and get back to you.. I do know if your in a daw host, BPM has 32 channels you can send each individual track out on..that is another form of exporting
What Up T ? Yo man... PLEASE let me k now if you can still sample directly into BPM when its in a host (like cubase, logic, etc...) I know it samples directly to the pad when in standalone..BUT I need it to be able to sample to the pad while NOT in standalone. Does it do this? Thanks man... Looking forward t the new video
Also.. you will need to call up the BPM sampler and adjust the routing options.. then call up BPM inside the daw..In the upcoming video, I show how to do this using Cakewalk Sonar 8 PE..
Thanks man...sorry for pasting the question from the other video. Motu needs to thank you cause I am gonna get this now,,..LOL just needed to know that I could sample inside a DAW
Also.... can you drag from Pad to Pad ...like in my MV video..I use clipboard to basically copy from pad to pad. i know you can drag from the sample clip window.... but can it be done from pad to pad
You can't drag from pad to pad but you can copy form pad to pad.. its just a tad bit of a longer step.. If you are in the clip window you can see it's much quicker as I dragged my sample to each pad in a matter of seconds..
I've seen all the bad talk about Bpm not having auto chop. Who cares ?? You still can take a sample chop it and send it to a pad. It will be funny if they come out with a Update which will let you auto chop.
For Some reason I cannot drag and drop a sample into motu. Does it have to be a wav file or can it be mp3... Also i can load them in the clip window but if i close the clip window the sample will play but i can see the wave form in the window.

Is it possible to sample to a pad via the soundcard input like you can with NI Maschine?
IM really struggling on deciding which one to go for.
I already have a pad controller and a midi keyboard.
glennmusictech 2 years ago
Yes..you can use the external BPM sampler to sample from an external source.. Check out my other videos
orecordings 2 years ago
An auto next sample function would be nice like on the Korg Micro sampler.
Damn you should ask Motu to pay you to produce a product dvd as you seem to provide a lot of tech support for their product lol.

I'm currently making a product DVD as we speak for the MOTU BPM
