  • The most futuristic speaker, and it's hooked up to a diskman. Epic

  • hell yeaaaaaaaaaaah

  • @xXxardas12Xx helllllll yeaaaaaah!

  • @Ralef1 hell yeaaaaaaaaaaah!

  • I want this video on my my210x phone.

  • do anyone have a plan who to built this?

  • Can you explain how it creates sound?

  • @GrudonX The arc rapidly heats the air, creating shockwaves. And sound is just that: Shockwaves in rapid sucession.

  • @Helge129 Would that mean that the pitch of the sound you hear depends on the temperature of the plasma?

  • @GrudonX No, on the frequency. The higher the frequency, the higher the pitch.

  • @Helge129 Thank you for clearing that all up. It all makes sense now.

  • Бля наконец я нашел это видео, три месяца на всех сайтах искал (искал из-за песни :-D)

  • Very impressive. Love to know how these things work, but I'm not smart enough for it :b

  • does it play electronic music better than rock ? ;D

  • How would you compare the clarity of the plasma speaker compared to a medium speaker?

  • ssssssooooooooooooooooo coooooooooooooooooooool

  • Touch it with your finger!

  • I WANNA POKE IT SO BAD!

  • your arc is very thin and unstable, make VTTC :D

  • @Dri0m it is.... it's a prototype as cleary stated - check my 'Completed Working Setup Video' ;)

  • @Dri0m thats wat she said

  • My left ear did not enjoy this video.

  • I have the exact same flyback lol. What circuit did you use? It can't be an 555 driver , the sound quality is wayy to good to be pwm audio and the circuit is a lot bigger. Nice.

  • With ArcAttack's coils, you can "see" the music and hear the deformation made by the coils. With this, you see an arc and hear almost perfect music. That is why these things are so hard to believe.

  • OMG! Please, listen Dubstep on it!!!

    I wonder! :D

  • @MrPirateSir1

    And it will sing too

  • stick your dick in that XD

  • Similar to how lightning makes thunder. The heat makes shock waves, modulate those waves, you can create sound without normal mechanical speakers... Reason why you dont see plasma speakers though is, someone will want to stick their finger or tongue into the arc...

  • @forwardbias No. You don't see them because they are insanely expensive, and extremely hard to get approved by UL or its equivalents. They are made commercially though.

  • So that light emmitting purple thingy actually makes the sound?

  • @feniksheer

    Yes

  • Could this be the future?

  • @DarkAAProductions What do you mean future? I've seen singing tesla coil videos that were submitted two years ago. There's already a band that uses them.

  • @Racecarlock I mean that possably, in the future we will be able to purchase these in stores but without all the wires and all that. Because i know for a fact that if you were to walk into a store that sells speakers, the would definately not have these :D :D :D, you get what I mean?

  • @DarkAAProductions That actually would be pretty damn awesome. Also, portable singing tesla coils. GET ON IT SCIENCE!

  • @Racecarlock their was one or two commercially available plasma tweeters on the market and you can get plans to make your own.too.

  • you just made a Jacob's Ladder now that is scary but very very awesome

  • eather way thats legit

  • calm down tony stark

  • i wonder what if our earphones were like this

  • how is this possible?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @bearpatch626 frequency

  • @bearpatch626 high frequency high voltage.

Even if you get zapped from a pullover, it's high voltage.

  • How the hell did you get this thing to throw out so much bass?!?!? Must say its quite impressive!

  • @Minifig666 if i had to take a guess a good chunk of what you're hearing is actually the electromagnetic waves being thrown off "interfering" with the camera's audio electronics.. not so much getting picked up as sound waves from the microphone

  • @djd829 Never thought of that explanation! Still it's very cool!

  • Do you have a way of dealing with the ozone?

  • Comment removed

  • @xSuchutki

ever stick your finger in a plug-in?

  • loox like a wolfram needle

  • I'd like to hear the effect it has on music that doesn't involve techno.

  • does this works like a class d audio amplifier except with a flyback on the output instead of a filter

  • Is it pulse-width modulated square waves or amplitude modulated? If it's PWM, how do you keep it from sounding totally square wavy? If AM, do you require a minimum amount of current running through the flyback at the lows that is comparable to the full modulation range?

  • @Psyrick29

he might have a filter before the flyback

  • is there any way to control the volume on these things?

  • Is the sound quality spectacular for this? Would it sound better than a high performance speaker?

  • @slipstream0011 well technically a lot of people say thta this has wayy better quality then regualr speakers

  • Maybe if you put yer finger in it and open yerr mouth you will start singing!!!! lol

  • haaax

  • @QuatreFun This is a well known fact. The plasma vibrates the air making noise just like a cone speaker.

  • tutorial?

  • Is that an arduino board?

  • @timetec umm, what would happed if you touch the blue thingy?

  • @erik7191 you'd get deep skin burns and a severe electric shock to go with it :D

  • @timetec thats so awesome :3

question number 2, does this thing produce any good bass? :D

  • @timetec that sounds nice

  • @timetec so in other words, NEVER let a toddler near it.

  • @timetec

but just with the newer DC Transformers with diodes in it , the old ones without rectifier can be touched with a screwdriver , you just have to grab the metal good , to prevent warm(hot) arc on the hand xD^^^^

  • @erik7191 it will fry your finger off

  • im kind of scared

  • @timetec Awesome stuff man, Im blown away, amazing.

  • This video just blew the right speaker in my headphone, thanks.

  • Please in need the scematis and intrutions that would awesome

  • Boys and girls, this is why you become Electrical Engineers but the side note is no girls in in class.

  • So you're saying I can have a giant speaker with some kind of enclosure on its front with a friggen plasma arc transmitting the sound? Superseded or not, that would look damn awesome.

  • what would happen if i put my finger throught that

  • I think this is under the same idea as the tesla coils making music.

  • WHAT THE FUCK? HOW THE FUCK? WHAT IN THE FUCK?

  • Stick your finger in it!

  • @TechnexLOL pues es lo mismo que a ud lo alcance un rayo sufrirá lo mismo pero en solo es mano..!! Saludos

  • Is this real life?

  • @LatestUFOSightings No, it's completely CGI.

  • @LatestUFOSightings Yup, it's not a big deal.

  • FOREVER ALONE

  • Take my money!

  • I want one... It would go great next to my Van de Graff generator.

  • i always knew plasma has a bad taste in music... :(

  • You must construct additional pylons.

  • how can you make this and not encode the video with 2 sound channels? (left right)

  • better off alone!! I LOVE THIS SONG1111111

  • gives me chills

  • Wonder what happens if you touch the purple stuff...(O_o)

  • @johndoe7033 you get one hell of a shock, and a very painful burn

  • @johndoe7033 it hurts...alot...

  • @johndoe7033 You could die, at the very least lose your hands to major burns.

  • waiit, is it the plasma or the jar

  • I have no clue what is going on but if i think what is going on is going on cool

  • what the fucking fuck

  • So epic.

  • MY MIND IS IMPLODE

  • Is there any way we can get the schematics?

  • okayyyyyy... where trying to make a laser, not blow up the fucking moon.

  • can you please tell me what is the red at 0:18 ?

  • AWWW YAAAA GRATE SONG TO GO WITH THIS GJ

  • I have a couple of questions, you mentioned in the description that this uses 50 volts, fair enough, but how many turns did you use in the fly-back's primary and how much current does it consume, I can't quite make it out in the video, I'm just curious as I'm experimenting with this kind of thing myself.

  • nice music yo...

  • Go outside and find yourself a girfriend

  • IT'S SCIENCE!

  • The question I have is, how loud is it in person, as opposed to recording, on a scale of 1-100 (1 being barely audible, 100 being the walls shaking.)

  • THIS SONG! :D

  • that is bad ass :D

  • so the plasma is making the music play ?

  • it be nice to kno wwhat the song is!!!

  • @hellomoney333 wtf why are people so lazy these days, just search for the lyrics on google "lyrics do you think you are better off alone" and you find the name of the song, then search the song name on youtube for other artists..... 15 second job....

This song used to be so over played when it just came out, damn just saying that makes me realise I'm an old fart. Anyway the song is DJ Alice - Better Off Alone (youtube(dotcom)/watch?v=Lgs9QUtWc3M)

  • This is one of the coolest things i have ever seen. I don't know how you did it but its fucking awesome

  • whats the temperature of that plasma streme

  • where can i get the plans for something like this?

  • i want to hear that 1 m0:00re time!!

  • Schematics please?

  • Is there anyway that you could give me the schematics?

  • ..the plasmatics are born,

    ~way better than those Eurithmics

=and kind of Thomas Doby con outside the box ?

    >what is comment pending approval, is that some kind of central scruitinizer thingy ?

  • ..the plasmatics are born,

    ~way better than those Eurithmics

=and kind of Thomas Doby con outside the box ?

  • INCREDIBLE! :X

  • Can you put here a schematic?

  • Can I build one? If so then how

  • hmm, can you explain how does plasma create sound pls? :s

  • to say it simple: the electricity is turned on and off in a frequency you can hear

  • What's the response range on this? Can you get subwoofer sounds off of your latest iteration of this?

  • anyone wanna explain how this works? hahah

  • shematics please

  • HI, i made an audio modulated flyback driver too, but i added a musical interrupter! I created the interrupter, the interrupter gives a COOL pulse effect!! here is my video: /watch?v=Yp8a7LEjhh0

THUMBS UP IF YOU LIKE PLEASE! thank you so muuch ^^ =]

  • y did u put the music on top of the plasma?

  • Hi, do you mind sharing the circuit diagram for this one. Seems you have got it working pretty nicely:)

  • Nice! I just got mine working but it doesn't sound anywhere near as good and as clear as yours does (yet).

  • Can someone tell me what that blue stuff exactly is since i dont really know about stuff bout this

  • would be a rather cool way to power a spaceship or car. Just imagine turning on your favorite song to go to your favorite destination...

  • not bad quality at all but i would rather get a regular speaker and save my ears from bleeding from that terrible pitch spike

  • Really ? The plasma is making the sound ? That is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time !!!

  • It's a square wave! how did you not fry your ICs with all that current?

  • please please please could i get some circuit diagrams? i have liked and added to favourites and will subscribe, ill do anything to get them....

  • thats actually not bad quality

  • looks fake, but i know it's real

  • too bad it can only play electro

  • @AXE2501 oh... HA HA!

  • @AXE2501 That is nowhere near Electro music.

  • @Mocib 404: Joke Not Found

  • what if you touch it i would be tempted

  • Can you show me the eletrical diagram? i'm doing a elektronics education and i'm verry interested in this

  • isnt this kinda the ways grphic equalizers work?

  • How is the sound quality of this "speaker"?

  • how the bass mid and treble range on that sound system

  • hows the high, mid and bass eq on the plasma speaker in comparison with a normal conventional speaker

  • czad :)

  • I love that song!

  • that's the way to make the true electric sound.

  • AWESOME STUFF DUDE....

  • The bass is a lot better then what I'd have expected, how does it sound IRL ?

  • hey there plasma, you lookin' sexy tonight.. wanna dance?

  • -phased plasma speaker in the 40 watt range.

-hey, just what you see, pal

  • I want to see a plasma subwoofer!

  • plasma whiplash like this from iron man2 hehe

  • what is the title of the song ?

  • @gabymanjo The song is called "Better off Alone" by Alice DJ, I think. I heard it on C89.5 in Seattle years ago... I could be wrong.

  • Play He's A Pirate instead.

  • Can I Have a question - I also build HV plasma speaker (see my channel), but arc is 1cm long. I know that it is because Shitty MOSFET (I have IRF630). I burnt lots of tranzistors and they were the only that left. What is the name of yours? And do you use HV transformator or flyback from the newer TV?

    Please answer me!

  • I can't even begin to comprehend how or why that works, for now I'm just going to believe you're a witch.

  • Wait, I'm confused. Is the plasma making the sound, or just moving to it?

  • @ninjadude989 - the plasma is making the music, nothing else....

  • @timetec LOL

  • @timetec the sound is transmited through the plasma as it would through a cable.. that's all..good work !

  • @timetec of course it just giving power the music is better off alone

  • @david1991rules4life

    1/ Solid 2/ Liquid 3/ Gas 4/ Plasma

  • @timetec you're forgetting dark matter and who knows even some othr things, or not; may be jut dark matter, just really a theory but deeing to be correct may be by scientists lol. But anyways, isn't this just electricity here or no?

  • @timetec so fucking cool :D

  • @timetec 1 is einstein condensate, look it up, 2/ solid 3/ liquid 4/ gas 5/ plasma

  • @timetec don't for get the fifth state of matter - Bose Einstein Condensate ^_^. Technically it should be number 1 though since Bose Einstein Condensate is below the state of "solid".

  • @timetec Then there's Bose-Einstein Condensate, sort of the opposite of Plasma, and a few more.

  • @david1991rules4life ... what? You know that there are a hundred and something elements right? By the 6th element, I assume you mean the fourth state of matter, some people call it that. In actuality its just an ionised gas, in this case air. The high potential gradient between the electrodes strips electrons from atoms in the air, so it is a plasma, yes. As for "fire plus electricity" idk what you mean really there...

  • @david1991rules4life Plasma is actually a "state" of matter. Some states of matter you're familiar with; Solid, Liquid and Gas.
