If you're not going to be in deep snow, I think you can just get away with closed in flats with stockings/trouser socks (the thinner kind of socks I mean) or running shoes. I live in Switzerland and until it's really deep with snow, this is what I wear. Of course once the snow gets deep I have to wear snow boots every day outside and then change when I am inside lol.

Very helpful I never realizd all the variety my wardrobe could offer, until I moved to a colder climate.
