  • Not using the muscle will cause it to atrophy completely, and you won't be able to use your muscle at all. Using it is the lesser of two evils.

A lot of health care is like that: choosing the lesser of two evils.

Medicine is closer to barbaric than most people know or would feel comfortable knowing.

Did you ever have a CVA, major stroke, or TSA (transischemic attack), a mini stroke.

  • You don't have tic douleroux do you. That's a $10 medical term for 'painful muscle spasms.'

Doctors like to use big words for even the most innocuous things. My daughter had a bloody nose, and the doctor called it epistaxis, which is the medical term for a bloody nose, but the word freaked her out.

So I told her epistaxis is a fancy term meaning bloody nose and her doctor scowled at me.

We got her a different doctor.

I'm a paramedic, I wasn't going to let her have a doctor like that.

  • Dear brother,

did you ever get a broad spectrum antibiotic like Doxycycline,

e.g. to kill some bacteria that could be attacking your nerval

    and tissue/muscle system?

Have you been tested for Borreliosis (Lyme disease)?

    God bless

    Mikel

  • Best wishes, and thank you for making this video. As usual, it is so informative and so personal, too......please do keep us up with as much as you are able .... take care of yourself...and it is great to see you outside in the shade, with birds tweeting and the flora so green...Highest Personal Regards, Dr. Margaret

  • If you can avoid the steriod injection. In the past you said Lyme was a possibilty, steriods are horrible in this case. I have done them in past and would never do again.

Sorry again you are going thru this. I have torn the ligament in my ankle and struggling with how to take care of it. Please listen to your body and what you know is possible. Don't let anyone push you into a treatment you know is wrong

  • It is so great to see a new video from you! I have the same symptoms as you but not as bad. Recently injured my foot and they are trying to talk about pt-no thanks

Hoping you feel well enough to post more. Here in the US social security just passed CFS/ has reason for disability!!

  • The minute you said the physiotherapist told you to do EXERCISES for your arm/shoulder I thought.... no way. There is no way a person who has M.E. can maintain an exercise program no matter how small it seems. It's the continuous process of it and the muscle work that the body can't handle. I am curious as to what the job placement ideas will be.... really ridiculous, buy your right.. if an employer can tolerate you stopping all the time.. why not. They'll see what happens. Seeing is believing

  • @BondGirl070 The problem for the physio is I have damaged the tendon in my shoulder and it is inflamed. It has been like this since last December. He started with manipulating it and then introduced ultra sound treatment. This has helped a bit. I have now been given a few exercises and been told to apply ice to it. He is treating it in the conventional way. I may still end up having a steriod injection or even a operation to free the tendon. I'd rather avoid that.

  • @BondGirl070

I think what you say is true for some people with the CFS/ME diagnosis.

    Greetings,

    Michael

PS: I think what you say is true for all those with very servere CFS/ME
