why would you want to make it fully RWD? It's an AWD platform and puts power to all four wheels with two 3.20ish Corvette limited slip axles.
RWD would increase top speed but it'd lose a lot of acceleration, AWD's always out accelerate a RWD with the same power stock. That's why Ford Lightnings suck against the Typhoon stock.
@IcabodCrane true. but AWD is a bit of a parasite. in races longer than a quarter mile the awd would slow it down. but launches in this in RWD would suck. hell you wont lose MUCH with awd , but a lil bit
It is slightly parasitic, yes...but in terms of overall driving if you live in an area like I do the AWD comes in VERY handy. Granted the RWD limited slip styles will still do better than open though.
I am with Power Brake Service, we do performance brake upgrades and we need to get ahold of any of the Typhoon, Syclone, turbo GM trucks of that era to do a video of. Turbos rob vacuum from the brake booster and we retrofit hydraulic brakes to solve that. Check out my page to see what we did with a Turbo Buick and a T-bird SC, we've done the Turbo GM trucks before, but want to do a video to show clients how to install it, please let me know of somebody in the community in Southern California.
ive looked at tyhoons for a while i wouldnt pay 8500 for 171k unless some rebuilding has been done. Then i would till call 8500 top dollar, 6 to 7 would prob sell well.
Hey guys , I just picked up a 93 typhoon today from the auction. It has a 171k on it but it still runs really good with great exterior and almost mint interior , is it possible to sell this for 8500? I have never bought anything this old but once I saw it I knew they are really rare . what do you guys think?
well the syclone was rated at 4.6 0-60 and if it is only .2 seconds faster than the typhoon in the quarter then i am sure the typhoon is either a 4.7 or 4.8 at slowest
impressive

@oohklu yes, but they will slide all over the road, unless you got some big sticky tires in back.

@IcabodCrane
Stock Lightnings are in the mid-high 13's with traction. Stock for stock Lightnings and SyTy's are actually quite close. All three are badass trucks.

@oohklu WHY?

@oohklu Remove the front driveshaft. Not hard to do if you know what your doing.
AbaddonsAnimosity 2 months ago
@oohklu You can make any RWD vehicle RWD by merely removing the front driveshaft.
