I specifically tracked down this ep, becuase - side from pegasus draggin ristian, tea, and bakura to the past only to have bakura overpower him and do a mind wipe- THIS , not that one, THIS ONE was the first portayal of "atem" and kaiba from back then

-But the final seaon portrayas this as it was supposed to be, so what gives? thats why i hunted htis down- it must have been RETConned by the final season.since that portrays the same era.

It's different and completely out of wacked: She's saying here that Kaiba and the Pharaoh had dueled, while later in the last arc, it's the Pharaoh and his Priests against Bakura and Seth's father and Zorc, whatever.

And not only that, but Seth only used Kisara's Blue Eyes to fight along side of the Gods, not against. Also, Seth was never considered a "traitor" (1:20). Ishizu's prophacy is all fucked up.

um...not exactly. the last arc of yugioh took place in Yami's memory world, not actual (in the Yugioh 'verse) history. that's why so many things were different from the memory tablet: thief bakura didn't know to use akhunadan as his puppet, so seth wasn't pushed to be on the pharaoh's side by seeing how evil and twisted his father became.

the memory arc took place during atem's coronation when he first became pharaoh whereas this flashback probably took place some years later when atem is firmly established as the pharaoh. maybe being an ambiguously-allied priest has a special wardrobe! ;)
