Buddy doing this song? Wow!! I knew there was a hip side to him when I read Little Richards autobiorgraphy. Buddy Holly and he hung out together and he(Little Richard) would visit Buddy's parents with Buddy in Texas when they would meet on the road trips. It was quit a scene there according to LR when he showed up. (very funny indeed) This was in the 50's. I never heard this version by Buddy on the radio but I like it.

I MUST confess that I haven't heard this but once in 50 odd years.............it's bizarre & the descending guitar phrase at Bars 11 & 12 is a weird 'killer' with its discord @ b12 and ALMOST throws Buddy's vocal line.
