Blue Monday- one of the tracks of the 20th century...... and I dont care what music magazines or "experts" say about it....we the people are the true experts.
@MattH0990 Nice...I knew the original way before this but always like the japanese influence on the song...to know this at 7, good on your influences...The Beach has a couple great b-side/unreleased versions...
@AlxEllis - I was just a young YOUNG kid in the 80's was the 80's futuristic for you? lol I mean I see songs like this etc but I always wondered about that futuristic edge people were talking about -
@IHVHandmind I was born in the 90s but i prefer 80s music, brought up with it. It's like being used to good wine and drinking cheap wine for the first time. used to listening to good music so when the chart trash comes on i'm like.......eh? lol
Shameful remix of a master song. Way too crowded, missing the point of the beats completely, like many modern remixes of classics by immature, under-developed peanuts in beanie hats (dappy reference).
I remember when the original was released and its the bizniz.
@djfour1 It's a poor remix of a classic tune, but Blue Monday was certainly not the "first electronic song ever". Even if you were to ignore the German bands like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream who recorded only electronic music in the 70s, the roots of electronic pop music in Britain could be Gary Numan with Tubeway Army, or John Foxx. The charts were full of electro-pop from '78 onwards, and New Order were late enough in that genre.
republicans have also used this anger to put fear in these people. they tell them the government wants total control over their lives etc. blatantly making things up even.
God, guns and race get mixed into a toxic stew of resentment at anything coming out of Washington.
@kingcroak voters' preference for emotional engagement over reasonable argument has allowed the Republican Party to blind them to their own real interests.
The Republicans have learnt how to stoke up resentment against the patronising liberal elite. Right-wing politics has become a vehicle for channelling this popular anger against intellectual snobs. The result is that many of America's poorest citizens have a deep emotional attachment to a party that serves the interests of its richest.
Thank you GOD for letting me grow up in th 80's...! New Order, Billy Idol, ZZ-Top, Pink Floyd, U2, Simple Minds etc, just to name a few. What the hell has happened to all that talent and creativity the last twenty years???
Popular music has, on the whole, always been awful. There was no less good music in the 90s and now in the 21st century there is still plenty of good music. The difference is, popular music has been steadily degenerating since the 80s began, so now the stuff with actual artistic integrity is much harder to find. I would go so far as to say that there is more good music today then there has ever been before. You just have to learn how to find it.
Don't think New Order has produced anything as textured as this since. Anyone know if BM was self produced or otherwise coz it is so different to their other stuff.
uh...sounds like you guys are due for some "straightening-out"...how could the uk be even more socialist??? sorry...we don't have "Council Estates" here in the US of A...thankfully!
@GruppeB The tories (Camerons party) ruled for all of the 80's, followed a neo-liberal, american style capitalist agenda that meant huge profits at one end of society and mass unemployment and social division and unrest at the other. As for 'how could the UK be more socialist?'- makes me laugh- seems anything left of george bush is socialist to many americans!
@isl232323 I agree. I am also perplexed about their reluctance towards free health care. I think Americans are fairly confused towards the difference between socialism and basic human rights.
@kingcroak voters' preference for emotional engagement over reasonable argument has allowed the Republican Party to blind them to their own real interests.
The Republicans have learnt how to stoke up resentment against the patronising liberal elite, all those do-gooders who assume they know what poor people ought to be thinking.
