  • It was not 1988, released in 1983 but indeed remixed in 88 and other years.

  • Hit #1 on the Billboard dance chart for 1 week with Touched By The Hand Of God on April 30, 1988

  • CAPTAIN PICARD SONG!!!

  • bababbabbabaababbaabbabaababaababababababbaabababababababaab

  • danke für alle 12"

    tüte

  • "Ready Player One" brought me her. Its a great book for nerds and geeks everywhere. Loved it.

  • Blue Monday- one of the tracks of the 20th century...... and I dont care what music magazines or "experts" say about it....we the people are the true experts.

  • This song was meant to be exxxxxxpanded...

    Love it!

  • @MattH0990 Nice...I knew the original way before this but always like the japanese influence on the song...to know this at 7, good on your influences...The Beach has a couple great b-side/unreleased versions...

  • The future has been and gone

    It was called "The 80s"

  • @AlxEllis - I was just a young YOUNG kid in the 80's was the 80's futuristic for you? lol I mean I see songs like this etc but I always wondered about that futuristic edge people were talking about -

  • @IHVHandmind I was born in the 90s but i prefer 80s music, brought up with it. It's like being used to good wine and drinking cheap wine for the first time. used to listening to good music so when the chart trash comes on i'm like.......eh? lol

  • @MattH0990 I agree. But I like this version for different reasons...

  • WTF????????????????

  • WTF????????????????

  • epic fail

  • Does anyone know which Synth created that wailing sound at 4:23?

I have a feeling that it's either an Emu synth or Prophet 5, can anyone please help?

  • everyones a fkn dj nowadays.

Shameful remix of a master song. Way too crowded, missing the point of the beats completely, like many modern remixes of classics by immature, under-developed peanuts in beanie hats (dappy reference).

I remember when the original was released and its the bizniz.

If it aint broke dont fix it.

  • @higherrights yes you're right this remix stinks he just ruwend the first electronic song ever !!

  • @djfour1 It's a poor remix of a classic tune, but Blue Monday was certainly not the "first electronic song ever". Even if you were to ignore the German bands like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream who recorded only electronic music in the 70s, the roots of electronic pop music in Britain could be Gary Numan with Tubeway Army, or John Foxx. The charts were full of electro-pop from '78 onwards, and New Order were late enough in that genre.

  • @Beelzebubbbbles loser i never asked the history of electronic music !!!

  • @djfour1 Merely trying to educate the ignorant. No thanks needed.

  • @higherrights It is directly from New Order. Their own remix so to speak....

  • FUCK ADVERISEMENTS!

  • thanks TheUTubeTeamSucks

  • Suberb! One of my favorite dance Tracks of my teenager days

  • This song is as old as me, but sounds exactly like it belongs here.

  • this makes mondays a whole lot better.

  • ding dong the 80,s at its best lets party!!!

  • cool bro!!!!

  • Remixed by Quincy Jones!!

  • The original tracks way better 1984....

  • "Boy, this too much!!!"

  • republicans have also used this anger to put fear in these people. they tell them the government wants total control over their lives etc. blatantly making things up even.

God, guns and race get mixed into a toxic stew of resentment at anything coming out of Washington.

  • @blue03r6 u don't sound all that bright

  • @kingcroak voters' preference for emotional engagement over reasonable argument has allowed the Republican Party to blind them to their own real interests.

The Republicans have learnt how to stoke up resentment against the patronising liberal elite. Right-wing politics has become a vehicle for channelling this popular anger against intellectual snobs. The result is that many of America's poorest citizens have a deep emotional attachment to a party that serves the interests of its richest.

  • @blue03r6 irony

  • wonder is there a mix of it with with less or no vocals the beat is deadly!!

  • lol nice channel name

  • Elevado a la categoria de nessecario!!!!

  • message me if you want tapes from 6400 and other old houston clubs

  • Thank you GOD for letting me grow up in th 80's...! New Order, Billy Idol, ZZ-Top, Pink Floyd, U2, Simple Minds etc, just to name a few. What the hell has happened to all that talent and creativity the last twenty years???

  • @humlakullen it sold out.

  • @humlakullen

Popular music has, on the whole, always been awful. There was no less good music in the 90s and now in the 21st century there is still plenty of good music. The difference is, popular music has been steadily degenerating since the 80s began, so now the stuff with actual artistic integrity is much harder to find. I would go so far as to say that there is more good music today then there has ever been before. You just have to learn how to find it.

  • @cytruslens

And Billy Idol, ZZ, U2, and most Pink Floyd is all crap anyway.

  • had this on tape years ago from a dj freind i not seen now for many years lost tape been looking for this mix its great. cheers

  • this is the bollocks. golden golden golden bollocks

  • one of the alltime greatest songs ! hell i was only 2 years old when it was released but still :p (remember it)

    lol-e-pop

  • @wizotch I thought it was Hal at first

  • no its the shit

  • sois los mejores un abrazo desde Albacete

  • yr rite

  • i love NewOrder !! me encanta su musica

    vuelvan!!

    the sound of the music!!!

    GREAT!!

  • Don't think New Order has produced anything as textured as this since. Anyone know if BM was self produced or otherwise coz it is so different to their other stuff.

  • @weenyone

Self produced. And New Order is extremely diverse and textured. New Order is the ultimate 80s influence on music and how much of the era turned out.

  • Self produced.

  • i hope the 80s will be back again one day ^^

  • @Gruenkreuz100 well it sort of is just listen to artists like Lady Gaga or Metro Station

  • @purplelove010

that's cuz they"re rip off con artists....

  • @Gruenkreuz100

    me too :)

  • @Gruenkreuz100 If david cameron acts up and makes things crapper for society, then we will be directly back in the 80s.

  • @TheBambiniGiant

uh...sounds like you guys are due for some "straightening-out"...how could the uk be even more socialist??? sorry...we don't have "Council Estates" here in the US of A...thankfully!

  • @GruppeB The tories (Camerons party) ruled for all of the 80's, followed a neo-liberal, american style capitalist agenda that meant huge profits at one end of society and mass unemployment and social division and unrest at the other. As for 'how could the UK be more socialist?'- makes me laugh- seems anything left of george bush is socialist to many americans!

  • @isl232323 I agree. I am also perplexed about their reluctance towards free health care. I think Americans are fairly confused towards the difference between socialism and basic human rights.

  • @Gruenkreuz100 but they are Absolute 80s sky channel 0200

  • Sure!! in 2080 80´s back!!!

  • @GrayRenegade and in 2012, as I reckon!!!!

  • @Gruenkreuz100 I hope not. For every New Order, there was five million Dead or Alive. Long live New Order!

  • @Gruenkreuz100 its never left! 80s is in everything we do, technology, clothes, music, it never died, just got woven into the norm

  • @Gruenkreuz100 come to Ireland,we are doing time machine trips at the moment complements of the banks

  • @Gruenkreuz100 cool fact: we are living in an 80s revival right now.

  • @Gruenkreuz100 The politics and style are coming back for definite. but who knows what 2080s+ will bring.

  • @Gruenkreuz100

    in about 70 more years :}

  • @Gruenkreuz100 they are, or atleast as close as you can get.

  • @Gruenkreuz100 they will be in 69 years time

  • @Gruenkreuz100 Maybe :)

  • @Gruenkreuz100 You should give Holy Ghost! and Cut Copy a listen then :)

  • @Gruenkreuz100 yeah 2080 should be good

  • Got to love the 80's !!! ; especially the underground music; great stuff; really miss it!!!

  • I'm addicted to this song at the moment!

It all flows together so well.

    :)

  • someone put the extended ver. on here. 7 mins is such a half job!

  • LOL this version is so epic! xD

  • indeed it is

  • great quality!

  • omg , soooo sweeeettt

  • @DrClash It does - but the original is OK, it was YouTube's processing during the upload that ruined it - some kind of volume limiter - and it did it to around 25 uploads i did over a few days, and i didnt notice til i was almost finished. Needless to say, i couldnt be bothered to re-upload again ... :-)

  • Classic, I luv it.

  • nice rip!

  • Great song!

  • Ive heard this song but its a girl singing it. Its not techno or anything its more of a soft guitar, Its the same lyrics but I cant find it anywhere, please help!

  • Might be Nouvelle Vague - Blue Monday :)

  • Nah I just found it a couple days ago, its by Flunk- Blue Monday. I like her version of it better. I love techno, but I dont think the 80's nailed it with this one lol

  • "i dont think the 80s nailed it with this one"

try sayin that in 1983 when it first came out lol it was cutting edge

  • true

  • jhllead thats the original version of the song that came out in '83

  • does any body know the version its a long one i think but it start of with just the drumming bit before the rest of it comes in and alot of dj's use it ????

  • kurd maverick - blue monday :)

  • @jhllead the version you are referring to is the original version from 83...the b side has a track callled The Beach, which is essentially the dub version of Blue Monday...This version is from 88...The original version can be found on Substance and you should be able to find the vynyl on Ebay as it is one of the most popular 12" singles of all time...Hope this helps...

  • sound as fuck! yeah the only place i have ever been able to find it is on the juke box at work! but its just new order blue monday, i did have a feeling it might be a b side, cheers anyway for the help

  • funny remix, almost like a quickly put together version, 90 percent the same as the original 12 inch version

  • This version notwithstanding, this song is one of the seminal musical tracks of the '80s. It was popular in dance clubs and modern rock stations. Great song.

  • one of the "good" oldies. no, it is really a milestone of synthiepop.

  • the guitar(?) at 0:23 sounds familiar...and I know I know it. What's it from?

  • I don't get it from it, but maybe.

  • @medamorth

    re: guitar at 0:23

very similar to State of the Nation?

  • That's not what i was thinking of either. it's something I've heard before, and I don't know much of New Order's stuff. It could be that, though.

  • heard this on the radio yesterday, awesome song.

  • love it.

  • fine song

  • Don't care for the opening too much.

The undertones add an interesting tone, the original in full length was still the best though.

  • ja das war damals voll super.überall dieser song und der song von human league"being boiled".im gegensatz zu heute ist das noch geile musik

  • to tragoydaki ta spaei!!!!

  • mega geil

  • 100 % on the right side ! xD

  • it's true !¡

  • nice song.

  • is better the orgy´s version

  • tu pinche remix esta de la verga pendejo yo digo q nadamas le a de gustar a tu pinche madre

  • Not bad, although nowhere near as good as the original. Quincy jones must have used all his magic on Michael Jackson when he remixed this track.

  • the really first one song was Divine - Love Reaction produced by Bobby O. After 2 months came the New Order with Blue Monday in 1984. Unfortunately the first version of Blue Monday couldn't reach bigger success... But the 1988 Version is great;)

  • blue monday was released on 7 march 1983 and new order were playing it live 6 months prior, if not even earlier. the it is common knowledge that love reaction was a new order rip-off. new order used to play love reaction live, their fat roadie would dress up in drag and sing the lyrics. the template for blue monday was actually new orders own 5-8-6 which they were playing in early 1982. they very freely will tell you they were influenced by italo-disco of that era. but love reaction was later!

  • ok, thank you for your clue;) but i love much more the Bobby O. production:))

  • yeah, this is quincy....

  • Do my ears deceive me? sounds a little messy, Ouch...Blue Monday to Sunday!

  • this is the How Much Shit Can I Ruin A Great Song With mix....

    well done.

  • The guy who posted this didn't make this remix.

    New Order did..

  • dam you have f' k up a good song

  • Yeah, he traveled back in time 21 years to fuck this up.

This version was released in 1988.
