That won't work, the idea of this is that its using a little extra fuel (Petrol) to generate some electricity.
On an electric Helicopter if you take more power to drive a generator it comes from the battery, the generator can never make more than it takes, flight times would be shorter.
So your fail safe mode is a hard left? hmm interesting, don't be hovering to the left of the helicopter and 10 feet away if the signal drops, otherwise you're gonna get a ginsu massage courtesy align...haha
"Pointless"! I think TamiyaExperienced missed the point altogether. Zenoah 20ie motor ignition modules are battery hungry therefore adding an onboard generater will prolong flight time and save unscheduled landings. Maybe.
Sounds like a gasser

put there some LED and you will turn them to a "night flier heli" using this energy
mrlipux 1 year ago
@SawyerAero You cant make power from nothing, the generator would consume more power than it makes and would lessen your flight time.

what about the one way bearing. it almost went to a complete hault. i dont see you making it safe to earth if that engine shuts down.

@th3s41nt
because theres no rotors if there was it would have spun much longer

good system for scale models especially if the generator can double as a starter motor

Pointless, but at least you had something to keep you busy for a while.

Keep a set of rechargables on board, and you'll never have to charge them, and you'll always have control, even if the engine stops.
