Do you know if it will work just as well to have a rectangular prism shape for the box? I'm hoping to have one of the long sides be the front. Will the change in shape cause problems with the perspective?

Hmmm...I'm not sure. I think as long as the mirror is set at a 45 degree angle, it should work.
