hey hey! Have you thought about intellectus 424 diet (google it)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy lost crazy amounts of weight with it.
For fuck's sake, it feels like half this video is Charlie Rose introducing all the panelists. Just say, "Here's a bunch of eggheads who are smarter than you" and get on with it.
@QuantumQuacks Actually, if you want to get technical, you would have to eat grapes with the seeds still in them. And secondly, you would have to eat a shit load of them every day. You're better off just taking Red wine extract along with a tall glass of concord grape juice. Works well in slowing the aging process down, to a certain point.
@QuantumQuacks LOL! So BBC HORIZON is "your" RESEARCH? Haaaaa! You are wasting mah time. However, I did burn some CALORIES responding to your QUACKERY so thatz good.
the more calories, the less water. those who eat high calorie are dehydrated. those who eat less calories are hydrated. water is hunger. water is nutrition.
I eat 1000-1200 calories a day, and am pretty healthy. I am 5' 8" tall, haven't measured myself in a while, but must be atleast 135lbs. BTW I also do sun gazing, so I get part of the energy from sun.
You are welcome to believe whatever you want, but the science behind caloric restriction increasing lifespan is undisputed. Note, none of the scientist in the panel dispute dispute the evidence behind CR.
Overeating is basically consuming more volume of food that can be comfortably contained in your stomach and can be efficiently digested without discomfort and indigestion. Stuffing yourself because you paid $9.99 for the all you can eat buffet, just to get you money's worth is gluttony, and abuse of your stomach. But sadly, that is what most Americans do. Exercising has nothing to do with eating beyond your stomach's capacity.
i don't understand why it's called calorie restriction. the caloric recommendations are fairly arbitrary anyway. why not just say that what a normal man needs is 1900 calories, and a woman 1500-1600?
its a good idea actually; their bodies are probably laden with resveratrol and all the other anti aging substances they have been pumpinginto them in the lab, plus the meat is lean because they are calorie restricted; we are talking about an untapped market here!
Even if this is possible, do you think people will still be having SEX at age 120, 130, 140, or even 150? Can a 150-year old man go to a bar and still be able to pick up a 20-year old hottie? I want to know!
Certainly, but you better be taking your vitamin E. But you'll probably be more into virtual sex, after the singularity sex will probably be small beans compared to what other pleasures will exist.
sorry mate but thats probably wrong, this covers alot more animals then just humans so by saying that because we eat less back then is saying that all animals did
CR works in all species tested. The CR effect goes way beyond after reproduction shuts off, so it goes way beyond just staying thin. CR increases species maximun lifespan, it makes them live longer than the species is supposed to. Mice on CR can live to human ages of around 150-180 years on life long CR. CR is not just 'normal' patter of eating, it's dramatically decreasing food by upto 70% almost, which would be incompatible in the wild due to lack of reserves, low body temp, slow wound healing
the comment on if you eat 3000 calories, will you still get the benefits of slow aging... shoot 3000 calories spread out in the day is still bad for you.... unless you are 7 foot and 270lbs
Its simple really: EATING is STRESSFUL! It produces WEAR & TEAR at the CELLULAR level. Thatz it in a nutshell. Thus, if one RESTRICTS such Cellular FALLOUT the HEALTH and AGE is extended. This was the idea behind DENHAM HARMANs FREE RADICAL theory of the 50s. Later modified to include other MECHANISMS of AGING such as EXCESS INSULIN and CORTISOL PRODUCTION. All of which are from EATING. The more you eat the MORE you produce these SIDE EFFECTS. Reduce CALORIES but Add NUTRIENTS. Is better.
well put. i have been intermittent fasting daily for a few weeks and plan on incorporating this as a lifestyle.
i have been SAVING MONEY by buying less food but i still buy quality food.
there is so much indoctrination and lies about food and eating. religions promote fasting and control of the flesh and body which is the path of health
fighting your own bodies desires to eat will not be a long term solution. Eat more, just better stuff: vegetables and fruits. All whole foods. Nothing processed.
Caloric restriction isn't about losing weight. It has benefits to cancer patients among others.... It relates to calories, obviously, but it is not about weight loss at all. That would be a side effect.
true eat better stuff but the better stuff like fruits and veggies and whole grain foods and lean meat like chick and fish is lower in calories. also calorie restriction is not the same as ana and as with all new diets you should talk to your doctor.
CR isn't about food restriction, it's "calorie restriction". CR dieters eat as much food if not more, in most cases, than the average person. It's just that the foods they choose (and much of them) are much lower in calories and higher quality. You could eat two donuts for b-fast, a slice of pizza for lunch, and a cup of pasta for dinner... still consume less lb. for lb., but gain more weight in the end. The difference CR dieters choose wisely, more high-quality fruits, vegetables, and proteins.
So am I to assume that people who exercize a lot, like marathon runners, body builders, swimmers, are actually aging their bodies more? You have to consume a lot more calories to do these sports so even if you are in good shape, you are wearing your body out.
CR is based on consuming less calories than you normally would to maintain your body mass/% muscle. Exercise itself is a very effective way to extend your life and maintain health - indeed it is a necessity for such things. Very excessive excercise can damage the body and contribute to wearing it out, but as with most things, the propper balance beats any one of the extremes (inactivity/over exercise).

Discovery. The other people are just nonsense.

hmm what about eating once a day but 3000 cals in 1 meal, will you still get the benefits of slow aging?
trgiresun28 2 years ago
No you wont. It's the total average calorie intake. It's all to do with the calories taken in... not meal timing or anything

Its a myth that chicken and fish are leaner meats. Research it yourself. Most meat has around the same calories and fat content.
VeganTruth 2 years ago 2
Right!
Chicken has a much calories as beef and the idea that fish fat is good for humans is a total myth.
VedicIntelligentsia 2 years ago
Why lean meats?! Haven't you heard yet? Saturated fat is NOT the culprit. Carbs = insulin = disease.
zoominfroom 2 years ago
well the human body was made to run on blood glucose. So I don't think you're statement is correct.

Exercise activates heatshock proteins which repair dna in cells.
Of course overt exercise can damage the body just as much as a proper amount of exercise repairs that damage.
