valve amp, very nice, and that 1000 watts is probably PMPO which basically means it will put out that much power while melting on your floor hahah, more like 15 RMS per speaker or less and 80 wrms for the sub

I don't agree. Z-5500 is the most powerful set from Logitech. I have it for about 2,5 year and it is still the best PC Speaker System (better then any gigaworks). Z-2300 is 2.1 configuration and subwoofer is 66Watts weaker than that one from Z-5500. It's still a good set, especially for music (maybe even the best from 2.1), but Z-5500 are just the best. I won't change it for anything.

Take a look at an old Crown DC300 on ebay.

See how big it is? See how big the capacitors are?

1200 watts cannot run on a modified wall wart.

Miau56, if it doesn't have a tw the how does it reach 20,000hz? a felted paper voice can't reach 20,00hz. but if you look at the driver you will see a cone shaped ting where the dust cover would b, that is the tweeter, it works in a similar fashion to Tanoy speakers, but slightly differently because of patents put out by Tanoy (and the fact the Tanoy is high end and Logitech in not). the price is expensive if you by from Logitech, but if you look around a bit you can get it for about 50% less

Bilyam that system doesnt reach 20k within a 3db band. That is a Tang Band driver and that center pointy thing is the dust cap. Its not a coaxial driver. Plus if it has tweeter it must have xover as well since its not bi-amped. If u open it u wont find any xover. Its a simple widerange driver.

NO, thats incorrect, the little center pointy thing is called a phase plug, it 'can' infact reduce the higher frquencies...

The phase plug is mainly there to help the angular dispersion of the sound, all the soundwaves are directed straight out. My Z2300 has then and it also has NO tweeter, SO it sure as hell can't hit the 20khz which its rated at, yet it STILL got the THX rating.
