If Perry, was Journey, wouldn't the band be dead?? If I'm not mistakened, which is fact I'm not, Perry is a replacement lead singer for the original. The other thing, Perry isn't even the one who formed the band, he had nothing to do with reating the band. Journey is and will always be Neal.
Perry has one of the all time great voices in rock history, I'm thankful for his talents, but you guys are failing to realize that Perry isn't has key to Journey's existance as you want him to be.

Props to this amazing singer from the Phillippines!! To ALL naysayers out there, I for one have been a Journey fan since '79 and believe that he is the most qualified person to hold the lead singer position. All others have come & gone since Perry, but none are as humble as Arnel. And to add to his credentials, he is bilingual! I wonder if all the naysayers can even sing in another 2nd language as good as Arnel. So please stop the hate and insults, and just enjoy the music!

@drla02 I agree wholeheartedly I've seen them many times going back to Steve Perry days and enjoy them just as much today as I did then. Arnel is very sweet, humble and an amazing singer and it's a wonderful feelgood story as well.

@NoSteveNoPoint Yes, I concur. Many want the SP line-up back. However, let's show the same amount of class that Steve has shown towards his former bandmates. He's a class act which is 1 of the reasons he is so loved. He is a good example for all us disappointed fans. One cannot fault Arnel though for seizing the opportunity. Who wouldn't? Arnel is not SP, but he is a good man. He is using his celebrity for good causes - charities. He's not blowing his $ on frivolous junk like many celebrities.

However, it's not our decision, it's their perogative to do as they please.They are the most lucrative karaoke show on the planet. If they changed their name obviously it wouldn't be as profitable!
