Yeah this is the Naxxramas that was in Eastern Plaguelands before WotLK came out. The shadow priests put on the heals for damage debuff and the party healed themselves... they released a patch that made that impossible later however

I remember hearing about this about 2 years ago, and thought it was an interesting idea.

From my understanding, the reason for 3 shadowpriests was to maintain a sizeable mana pool and VE healing, and therefore I figured there must be a type of mana or health bomb, similar to Kazzak.

Is it simply that the 3 VE's were able to sustain the health? Just curious if there was something I was missing; I can't seem to find any boss strats for 40-man Loatheb, only 10/25 man.

i have 3 manned loatheb, that was kind of accident =P 7 ppl in raid died suddenly and then me(MT), OT and healer was alive.

If i got to low HP the OT taunted the loatheb off from me and i did same to him.

it took 45 minutes to kill him ^^

2. Raid members cannot suddenly die, because Loatheb only does small raid damage.

5. There is no way the healer could've kept up with the mana, unless it was a pally

2. loatheb's damage to the raid isnt big, but there have been a lot of reports in naxx of bosses suddenly doing enormous damage killing half the raid, i had it happen on gluth, when his decimate hit me for a mere 254.8k damage.

this was old wow, the mechanics were different back then. There was no Necrotic Aura, it was a 1 min linked CD on ALL healing spells... so what they did there was sorta easier then doing it with actual "healing". Just saying... loatheb in 10 man naxx has close to 7 mill hp but goes down fast cause of the spore buff, increase crit chance by 50%. he hits like a puss but you can only do big heals once every minute. dots every 15 seconds. 40 man naxx i believe he had about close to 5 mill

3 Spriests can keep the tank up since the ´´spikeball´´ gives 60% more spellcrit, so the health their spells returns is MUCH. that was hotfixed very soon after that happened, naxx was so great :D

You can't see it from this angle, but there are several corpses in the entrance to the room. That would be others from the guild that wanted to watch them do this. We ran into the room naked and died to allow for better viewing, since a gate that closes blocks the view.

the golden spiky ball shit that appears and dies? It's a spore that gives melee +50% crit for 2 minutes, and spells +60% crit for 2 minutes. the ball pops up eveyr 10 seconds or so

which means you're pretty much buffed with crit the whole fight. my main is a BT warrior, and we did Naxx recently. I had 95% crit with the spore buff.. badass :D haha.

Actualy, this was never nerfed. Shadow priests restore health and mana with out actualy casting a heal (In this encounter all heals are put on a 1 minute cooldown, which typically means its near impossible to heal)

A group/spec setup that works in this way only on one boss in this game - of course, its Loa.

On every other encounter the four powernukers would inevitably draw aggro from the big one, and this leads to some painful instances of death.

But still, fighting him with 39 other ppl is way, way funnier and much more atmosphere-laden (if only because if someone screws up you can poke fun at them xD )
