the wide angle lens screws in to the mount on the housing. This requires a bit of care taking off and replacing the lens underwater. It's also important to make sure there is no air trapped in there or else it will show up on the video.
Regarding the optics, I don't see any 'dark edges' (I think that's vignetting) but there is noticeable blurring of the edges when zoomed in.
I just got the WP-v1 and already have the HF200. I'm thinking about buying this lens. Do you recommend it? Did you experience any vignetting? What settings (other than underwater mode) did you use on the camera (aperture mode/24P/white balance/ etc)
Thanks! I love this camcorder. The wide angle lens and filter help quite a bit. The case is a bit expensive - I paid about $400 for it. (much cheaper than a real UW housing though)

Awesome video! i just ordered this camcorder. I hope to get this case sometime in the future. It cost more than what i paid for the camcorder though!
