  • @mzfit4u Sounds wonderful! Are you still in the military? Thank you for your service!

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips I retired in 2009.

  • @mzfit4u Still, thank you! :)

  • if you go make sure to hit up Ted's bakery! they are bomb and the shrimp trucks in kahuku ^^

  • @TufugaValai208 Two best places. Love em! Check out my hubbie's channel, ChefTips. He has recipes for both Ted's Chocolate Haupia Pie and the Giovanni's Shrimp. Trust me, they are GOOD recipes!

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips oi i going back in November my fam stay in Kahuku and Laie so we enjoy this a lot ^^ but Im in the mainland and Im craving some Haupia Pie ^^

  • @Smkejumper69 Great tip about the souvenirs! We didn't make it there during our last visit.

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips

any tips on Kauai, going this June for my 20 year Anniversary, good eats? Where the locals hang? Night spots? I heard Kauai shuts down pretty early...just trying to make plans, thanks

  • you made me feel there, mahalo gabe

  • aww i really want to go to hawaii

  • @acinombb It's so beautiful. Think we're heading back for spring break next year!

  • Thank you for this. Say, can you tell me what cool videos there are here on YT about the EXACT costs of living in Hawai'i (on O'ahu) -- What apts rent for, how much food is, etc.? Thanks!

  • @GimmeKitty Thanks so much! Wow, exact costs change so often. That's difficult to nail down. My brother in law lives on Oahu, and it's quite expensive. I'd check Craiglist for Oahu, and perhaps some online Hawaii newspapers. Good luck!

  • sei un bel puttanone ;)

  • V, you did such a GREAT job with the North Shore, Mahalos...I plan on doing a video soon on places to eat that way...

  • @WAYDESWORLDHAWAII Thanks! I have been enjoying watching your Hawaii travel vids as well! Don't miss Ted's Bakery! In addition to their delicious mahi mahi sandwiches, they have an amazing hot shrimp sandwich with guava butter sauce.

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips I'll make sure I get the ones you missed but there will be no way I can get them in a Vid in 4 mins, GREAT JOB...There is one more local Shaved Ice stop tucked away that all the locals go to @ The Aloha General Store. Also you have to stop at the Coffee Gallery right after Cafe Haleiwa. The best Shrimp trucks @ Macky's...I mean it was the winner of the Battle of the Northshore Shrimp Trucks"...Haleiwa Joes, Cholo's, Bonzi Sushi....ALL GREAT STOPS.

  • @WAYDESWORLDHAWAII Ah yes. Coffee Gallery is awesome! I love their haupia and purple sweet potato pie with the macadamia nut crust. One thing about keeping videos short is that you can't include everything. I'll give that sushi place a try. Sounds yummy!

  • Loved this video. Its so beautiful there.

  • @19steph83 Thanks! We really enjoyed our stay. Hoping to return this July for more vids. Can't get enough of this beautiful place!

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips Great videos, tell me which is the best place for a 2 week stay in California? I heard

    San fran is good

  • @cristoretornebiblia San Francisco is great! Depends on what you like best. City, beach, mountains?

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips Can I Personal message you? I am looking for good cities, buildings, beaches, meet the local people.

I am doing a project would I be able to use some of your material?

  • @cristoretornebiblia Sure, feel free to ask any questions. Our videos are copyrighted, so perhaps you can explain what you need?

  • Awesome video. I now have a strange hankering for spicy shrimp and shaved ice. :)

  • @mpgomatic Thanks! I love the roadside stands throughout Haleiwa. And that spicy shrimp is really spicy! I eat habanero hot sauce all the time, and this stuff was serious! Thanks for the kind comment. I really appreciate it! Mahalo, Veronica

  • great north shore vid

  • @lornauk Thanks!

  • I was there between 1995-1996....it was pretty decent. Was okay anyway all the way up to Makaha. I think you can blame the economy for the tents along the beaches. I was there because of an opportunity was presented---kinda hard to say 'no' to. I had some fun...but mostly just suriving. It was definitely and experience. And I do appreciate the local culture--just wish I had more time to learn more while I was there. Well...one of these days I might go back.

  • @dirkjently Hope you can make it back soon. It's such a wonderful, beautiful place!

  • I am so there in my dreams! Thank you for such a beautifully shot video! (P.S. Where is the chocolate pie you brought back for your neighbors?)

  • @tmltj Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have to give huge credit to Andy Moore, a local Haleiwa musician who provided the soundtrack to our video. As for that pie.... we'll have to make one from scratch! I think this guy on YouTube named ChefTips might be making one soon. :)

  • Also look forward to you visiting Hanama Bay past Kaimulki

  • @dirkjently We went to Hanauma Bay and it was amazing! I'll post a video in the next couple weeks. Many more to come!

  • I did a quick thru of Haleiwa when I did my quick tour of Oahu. I lived in Waianae for about a year---was an interesting experience...though I didn't get to do much "touring".

  • @dirkjently Cool! Waianae has great waves, but that whole coastline has really gone downhill lately with all the tent camping along the beaches. It's pretty dangerous these days. How was it when you were there?

  • It looks like you had a good time I think it is time for another vacation.

  • @lynnrose20 Hawaii is the best! We're planning a second series this July.

  • how could we hear your voice so great from far away! and next to the beach!???????????????

  • @TheDISNEY365 a microphone maybe? LOL. This place looks great, favorited.

  • @TheDISNEY365 We use Sennheiser wireless microphones. They're awesome!

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips oh yeah lol i am so lame....i! forgot
