BC remains my favourite band even though I only saw them live twice. I remember the nuclear threat in 1985 when Steeltown was released. Flame was so powerful and frightening. I've followed BC forever and still think back, almost every day, to those days in my parent's basement thinking "here is a band that understands me, my fears, my hopes". I'll never forget you Stuart.
I saw them live in Paris, once, small concert, it was sad. You felt their fame was passing. I remember totally digging Tony's Trace Elliot gear and being surprised at how limited Bruce was. Stuart was not only the front man but also the lead guitarist and was actually pretty good. Such a waste that he offed himself this way.
@sam7475 At the time they were writing for this album, Reagan was making a tour of Europe trying to secure sites for nuclear weapons. The line "with a trident held his fear" is a direct reference to a Trident missile.
I remember a report at the time that this album came out that this song pretty much got them shut down as far as airplay went because it was critical of Ronald Reagan.
Never saw this song live! Have seen them in 1986, 1988, 1998, 1999 en 2000. Best song ever! Just read it is based on a novel by Stephen King. (thx to Carl Bewley)
I wasent at this gig but i saw them at newcastle on this tour .was up in the balcony and when this song was played the whole place was boucing .and i could feel the balcony moving up and down .fantastic saw about 50 times after this and never heard them ever play this again .was a shame

As others said, it was about Reagan. I just ordered this album as this is the only BC album not featured on Rhapsody.
