  • i hate modbo 5.0 and modbo 4.0 (4.0 - are glitchy with 9000x, and 5.0 expensive), but it have beautiful logo. For me better ModBo 760, its have Matrix Infinity 1.93, less wires, best location of contacts, soo easy for 7500x\7700x, functional of modbo 5.0 repeated using DEV1 and mc0:\boot\eboot.elf ;) but xbox reset glitch hack much better

  • @TheDog7118 Thanks for the knowledge I figured out that I can;t play PS1 backups but PS2 Backups only. I had to find that out the hard way by wasting 10 CD-Rs on PS1 backups.

    30AWG is good for all the points except the GND and 3.3V parts. Use 24AWG for GND and 3.3V. 15AWG is way to big for install.

  • I do not recommend anyone to solder that kind of circuit, specially because he did it directly on the IC connectors, he did a hell great job, but I don't suggest you to do the same thing, even if you're a very experienced person, you can screw up with the whole connectors if you touch them by mistake, as they're about 1 millimeter of distance of each other and can easily melt and mix the solder.

    Modbo 4.0 and Modbo 750 have 1:1 Matrix Infinity firmwares and they are show the Matrix Logo.

    Modbo 745 and Modbo 760 have modified firmwares and show the Modbo Chip Logo.

    But you have right,he shows at the end another console,at the beginning you can see the Modbo 4.0 with v1.91 firmware 0:15 .

    And at 1:45 you can see 1.93 or 1.99,i didn't see it.

    This must be another PS2,the Modbo 4.0 isn't upgradable.

  • @stevenlakham 30AWG wrapping wire is the best stuff for modchips. Use thicker wire on 3.3v and groung though.

    It took me a hour to install one. But the install was much nicer than this. I spent time cutting the wires to the right length and routed the wires next to each other. So it shouldn't take long if you can solder and quicker if you aren't making it neat.

    it has e thunder pro 2 modchip

    when i turn it on, the green led goes on, and i can hear the dvd being read, but it stops reading and nothing happens

    and also, there's no tv output, and i've tried changing cables

    i know it's sort of trying to output something, my tv recognizes a signal coming in, but the screen keeps black

    i did some research and found out it could be the mod chip

    is it really the mod chip?

  • @kennydude19 use 30awg for all the connections? cuz I heard people use 30 and 24. 30 for power and 24 for signal, but I don't know how to tell the difference between the power and signals spots either. =/

  • @gamefreakchris07 use 30 awg kynar for the n,p,m,o,q,r,v,u,t,q,sx,i,g,y,a and b connections. Make sure I,G and B are properly soldered to the bios chip otherwise you will run into problems

    Not 30 for power, 30 awg is very fine core wire, use 24 which is thicker for VCC power 3.3volts, reset and ground. I used thicker wire for the reset as well.

When you solder the wires down to the bios or the little spots on the motherboard, do you need to solder the bios chip where the wire is going and same with the little spots on the motherboardbasically do you solder everything you attach the wire to? or do you just melt the wire down (to the board not chip) with the iron. also 24awg hook-up wire is supposed to be used right? cuz i can't find the insulated wrapping wire.

  • @gamefreakchris07 thanks! you should ideally tint your points first and do a lot of prep work. for example tint your chips points if your good enough they are frickin' tiny heh and prepare your wires. If you plan it out it will work out awesome, and will be very tidy. You need to follow the diagram for that modchip for your ps2 version. Like dot to dot. If your feeling a bit hesitant about doing this mod (it's hard at best) then send your ps2 to me if you ever change your mind, do a pr0 job

I just don't know how to take out the dvd drive, but it's not a problem I can work with it. I'm just scared about SX I think I have to solder it onto the tan thing on the side. and can i have some tips for doing the romeo mod? Do i just take the iron and lightly put it it on the board/leg of pin 17 and lift it up with like a safety pin from in between pin 16 and 17?

  • @gamefreakchris07 What PS2 do you have? Phat or Slim?

    The slim is very similar to install i haven't done it yet but would find no problem in doing so

    Yeah the SX point is needed for PS1 backups. There are plenty of tutorials on the net how to disasemmble the ps2 console. Usually the drives have ribbon cables (4) on the fat ps2's. I find it easier to unscrew the whole motherboard unit and lift out with the dvd drive, i then flip it over and undo/and reinstall cables this way, much easier

  • @gamefreakchris07 sorry ran out of typing quota. The SX point is very difficult without ripping off other components of shorting out. What i suggest you do is use the finest tip possible you can get, and use an eyepiece to see what your doing. I usually tint the side of the capacitor its usually soldered to, then tint the wire end and make it short as possible, also helps to put a tiny bit of solder on the end of your tip to help adhere the wire.

  • @gamefreakchris07 Romeo mod diagrams can be found on google, there is an alternativee diagram for not having to lift pin 17 but it's harder i think (lifting,cutting traces) In my opinion i think you will have to heat the pin up quickly and get a fine small knife blade behind the pin and lift enough to get it off the soldered pad, let the solder harden and the pin will be free, simply bend it up abit gently. Difficult mod i would say, it will save your laser if your ps2 is version 12/13/14/15

    if it is v9/v10 don't do the romeo mod

    i've done a few v9/v10 ps2's and i've never had to do the romeo mod i was advised not too as well

    it's mostly in the slims that need it (weak lasers) but i burnt my games at x4 i would advise you to put the MCfreeboot on your memcard and get ps2 network adapter + HDD, playing games from a hdd will save your laser and faster loading times too

  • @kennydude19 i would take the advice of using the hdd because i always go with that method for every system i have that is possible, but for the ps2, i would like to go with the burning disks method. sorry. so you recommend me not to do the romeo mod for a fat v9 ps2? but if it was a slim v9 ps2 you'd recommend me? The romeo mod is for much later versions, i did a freinds v9 three months ago and its still going strong, just burn your games at x4 with imgburn or dvd decrypter i recommend :)

  • For people saying his work is sloppy, i will tell you now i just installed a matrix infinity (real one) not the clone like this one modbo 4.0...and it is a very difficult mod. It took me around 6 hours, i did a lot of prep work, 15 watt soldering iron with fine tip, 30 awg kynar single core wire, rosin core flux lead solder, rubbing alchohol to remove the flux residue (stops corrosion)

    I love shit like this, good fun, I did the ps2 for a freind, and chip works awesome.
