@killrobotdie What are you buying today? A BMW? Well done! ;)
I'm guessing you mean the Xacti? I've upgraded to the Gopro HD, which I'm fully in love with, but I think the Xacti C4 with the polariser filter on it was a very nice SD setup. Had alot of fun with it.
I also extended the mics out from the back of the screen so I could tuck them into the helmet. That way I could either chat as I rode or at least get more engine noise and less wind noise.
You need a filter on your lens, thats why the colours are off, im sure of it. A polarizing lens or filter would suit for better sky colours and contrast.
Yep, we're definitely lucky here, I think about that every time I go for a ride, until some pillock pulls out in front of me that is. It'd be a better place if Kiwi's learned to drive!
Funny you mention wind noise. I was thinking the other day that it's higher that I'd expected. There's tape over the mic and that whole side of the camera is pressed into foam on the side of the helmet.
The camera has an anti wind noise function that I keep forgetting to turn on! That'll help alot more.
Hi Sven. It's a Sanyo Xacti C4 strapped to the helmet with a large rubber band which is actually a piece of tyre innertube cut to length. I also butchered a wide angle lense onto it. It's a mix now of two of my videos, Dodgy Helmet Cam and Dodgy Wide Angle Lens plus a little more.
I took inspiration from your setup with the power cables running to the camera on the helmet tho I only need one as the sound in recorded in camera.
I'll stick with this view for a while, I like it and it works!
i am buying one today i hope it is as nice as you made it look!

@killrobotdie Well done! Do you mean first bike ever or first big bike after you've got your license?
Either way, they're a great bike! Even tho they're powerful, they're very smooth, unlike a sports bike of similar size.
They're very understanding and with a low centre of gravity, very light feeling and nimble. Would love to see some pics or video when you get it.

ニュージーランドも左側通行ですか、日本と同じですね:)

Yea, both New Zealand and Japan drive on the left. It's the proper side to drive on :)

I know but the lens is a strange size. Was off a Sony Vid cam I think, stil looking ... :)
Plus, if I put a filter on it the ring of the filter will show around the edges of the vid, making the viewable area a little less.
It's a weird system where the filter thread is on a slider thing that comes forward over the lens when it has a filter on it..

Great vid Peetey! We're so lucky in NZ. Im amazed at the very low wind noise--was the mike pionting backwards? Thanks for posting.
