Believe it or not, One Piece is not just 1, but the NUMBER 1 of the Shonen Big 3 in Japan, Bleach is next, and Naruto is last. One Piece would be even BIGGER over here if it weren't for one simple fact. One Name: 4Kids. Curse them to bankruptcy, those bastards did SUCH a bad job that One Piece actually lost some of its appeal to me, that is until I saw the real deal, subbed, not dubbed.

Yeah the game is dead unfortunately... all the team members (including myself) just kind of lost interest.
I once tried remaking the game as an effort to get rid of that horrible lag, but no matter how efficiently it was coded, the lag would still be there.
It's just one of the limitations of Gamemaker.
After that we could either stick with Gamemaker and endure lag, or learn a better programming language. And nobody was really into either of those options.
Also imagin if you could customise your ship/boat however you like and everyone could have a vivre card to show them which way the boat is or some transporting device to teleport them onto their own ship/ crew's ship. And one person would have to steer the boat and everyone else just can do whatever on the boat or the person steering has an option to stop too and the shole thing stops. And if your lucky enough to find a devil fruit (very hard to find) you can see what power you get
Where your crew (who ever is online) do missions together and keep leveling up until you hit level 100 where you can start to try and find the amazing One Piece. There should also be PvP tournements and place's where you can raid on the marine's/ pirates. And if you get enough treasure you can buy new stuf like gear, ships/boats, member's even and stuff like that. Ill explain the rest in the next comment :D

Or on the gouverment side you can choose to go into the CP side (e.g CP9 the whole saving robin arc) where you train to do stuff like Tekkai or those move's where you can start jumping in the air and doing missions like assasinating people. Then the next side is the Pirates side! Where you can start out as a lone wolf but then gradually getting more crew members (There should be like a crew member system like the guild member system on WoW just better) ill explain the rest in the next comment :D

@the1396 That is compelling, but my recently revived fandom in the show does have me over thinking the use and nature of the characteristic mythical elements. I think this game can work around the limited number of curse fruit powers if they wet the fans appetites with the swordman, martial artist, markman and up coming cyborg types. Not all MMOs need to follow the model of "anyone can be anything" model. Maybe putting in a luck factor will draw the crowd?
also about current status of OPO, I must say creator of OPO is being ultimately busy with his life, there will be some new features in the next versions. like fortress event and arlong mission. devil fruits are still far more away to be added. it's even beyond the addition of grand line (according to Typhoon's to-do-list)

How should a onepiece MMORPG work in its mythology? Each ocean is its own expansion pack. Character classes start at marksman, fighter, swords man with skills like cook, doctor, shipwright and navigator to man and acquire larger ships......Merfolk and giants might be acquired with special points in the expansions..........but the whole mythology of the devil fruits is that each one is unique......that just can't be done in a proper mmo unless its legitimately rare
@butchdeadlift10 I disagree. In most MMOs (or games in general) players usually take the role of exceptional heroes. Combining that with the fact that almost every major character, or even powerful person, in the one piece world is a devil fruit user it would make sense that each player has a devil fruit power. The trick would be to make non devil fruit users just as appealing, and having enough different kinds to make everyone seem unique. Of course balancing all that would be a nightmare.
@TheNdoki it would have to be promotional; be the first of 500 to join and get the Munch-Munch fruit. Programing will be a mess unless the simplify the attacks to Long Range, Short range, and area effects. Different names, but same effects (kind of like BT3 lol)

Dude they basically just shut it down
I went to the site but the servers are always down and they got rid of the sprites to show u the cursed fruit abilities. plus this game was a pvp and it is hard to make cash

No they didn't... The reason they got rid of the sprite sheets is because they have a new base, and the server's up right now, please don't lie.

The server is online as we speak, and a brand-new version of the game is underway. Also, I'm the game creator. :P
