FYI if any of you want pigs for pets, you should ADOPT from a pig or farm sanctuary!! They are desperate to find adoptive parents, and most of the pigs on there have been abused and/or left to die on factory farms (sometimes family farms or households where they were supposed to be pets), so they need a constantly loving and caring environment :/ The pet store venue for pigs(and other animals) is also pretty flaky, in terms of backgrounds and breeders. ADOPT!
This video has inspired me to get such a wonderful creature myself. I named the piggy Nick and we are best pals! It's positive that it can take some serious beating without much scarring (heals fast), even can stay long enough without food (tried 5 days at max so far). I'm gonna try to extract a steak from it and see if it can continue living - that way we can actually preserve them for a lifetime of steaks if it works and Nick won't bleed out. I don't have any anesthetics though.
I got an argetinian dogo that im giving away he is 5 years old and a perfect speciment of a dogo so if you live in or close to miami florida and want this dog then reply
I'm following veterinarian advice. I'm not trying to keep my pig small. I was completely prepared for him to get big. He's over a year old and I can still lift him. He's healthy. I feed him Heartland feed, which is the best diet for a pet pig. He gets fruits and vegetables as occasional snacks. He is not starved. I would never do that to him.
I just got one like two months ago and it is awesome, they grow extremely fast! dont over feed it or he/she will be obese.way smart, smarter than dog in my opinion
I have two pot bellied pigs. $129.99 is ridiculously high. Madeline was purchased from a feed store for $40.00 and was about a month old (she is now 7) and Daisy Mae was adopted from an animal shelter at $40.00 (she is now 3). They have a great home and share an acre with our horses. They're a couple of happy girls.
i have a pot bellied pig AND people think thier jokes such as (pork is good), is crap!!!!!!!!!! Pigs rock! i'm waring a shirt that says "no, i don't have any spare ribs!" a pic of a pig at the top!)
Pot-bellied pigs only get massive if you provide improper nutrition. If you want one, check the zoning in your residential area by calling city hall and asking if you can have "livestock" as a pet (Montevallo was okay with that), look for a vet who takes care of pigs, budget for getting it fixed (girls are more expensive so we got a boy), learn training tricks so it can be litter-trained, and buy pet pig food online and feed it 1/2 cup twice a day. Owning a pig is a commitment.
Are you kidding? 1/2cup a day? That is a starvation diet. They should have 3/4 - 1 cup twice a day of a good potbelly pig food, and fresh greens, or access to pasture. I agree, starving them is not an option to keep them small.
You like supporting animals being abused? You're proud of yourself? Animals being sold in pet stores are a disgrace. If you knew what the Parents of those cute puppies, kittens and pigs came from, you might think twice before supporting such disgusting places.
Doesnt matter what the reason behind buying animals from petstores are. You buy the pet, the puppymill made its money, and continues to abuse other animals. Why dont you do a little research before trying to be such a smart ass. Go look up puppy mill, and see exactly what it means to buy a puppy from a petstore.
Piggies are so cute! : )

He's obviously joking. jeez.
Personally, I wouldn't want a pig. Sure they're cute, but I like pork and ham too. :/ Besides, food pigs aren't that cute.

Pot-bellied pigs still grow to well over 100 lbs, even if you provide proper nutrition. Starving them won't keep them small.

I actually bought a pig from that pet store (Wags to Riches in Hoover near the Galleria?) We've had him since July and he's just adorable.

Oh yeah, so letting the poor baby stay in the petshop all its life where it won't be happy is SO not supporting animal abuse.
