  • this is brilliant, the use of projections in Putting Together, and everything, Its all amazing!!!!!!!

  • think listening to the CD does the musical justice. after watching this it doesn't live up to what i thought, but didn't go to the theatre and see it.

  • Do they do this on DVD? I really hope so!

  • i love the animations! Such a great way to use improvement in technology to improve the show!

  • it's moments like 4:15 that remind me of how much I love Hugh Panaro

  • That's incredibleeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Aw! I found it such a shame that this George had some intonation issues in the shown performance of "Move On". Maybe the available studio recordings and of course the fantastic Mandy Patinkin rendition from the 1986 film had raised my expectations. I'm sure this complete performance would nonetheless be yet another fantastic Sondheim show to watch.

  • shes not bernadette peters....

  • @adampz No shit, Sherlock.

  • @clownrus by that post i meant that no one can replace bernadette

  • WOW! Living pictures in stage production of Sunday?!

This only proves that technology can make anything happen on stage. I showed the original DVD to my art teacher and she loved it. I forgot to tell her about the new production!!

  • Some say Sweeney Todd is Sondheim's masterpiece. But while both are brilliant, Sunday in the Park with George is much more challenging both intellectually and emotionally.

  • If you get this show, you should by crying.

  • @jzapert s in its terrible or its great?

  • beautiful!I couldn't understand english..

last week i saw this musical in

    tokyo,

  • WHAT?!

    UGH!

    -_-

Hugh Panaro was finally on my side of the country and I didn't know about it?

    DAMN.

    I feel like crying.

  • Do you think you have a good handle on all the intrigatsies and nuainces of the show?

  • maybe not, im sure it's deeper than my interpretation of it, it just didn't grab my attention like my favorites do. i'm just saying if I was an addict to this show maybe I would've gotten a better grasp on things, but it's not really my favorite. but as i said before, the musics good.

  • at 4:48 the girl on the left is my girlfrien keaton!

she played young fiona in shrek the musical but grew too much so they didnt take her on broadway.

  • This production was the best I ever saw, bar none. And that includes the original production with Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters. It was truly amazing. Thank goodness we have these excerpts.

  • Would you still think that were i not for the technology?

  • This is the first Ive heard of or seen any of this amazing production (though its not the same without Mandy Patinkin). Ive seen four or five productions of this work, which is Sondheim's master work, and its just as amazing if not more so than the version with all the bells and whistles. Im not sure Im all for some of the liberties taken with the music but so much of the magic in the original is Patinkin. There just is no voice like his anywhere else in the world. He is a true treasure.

  • AMAZING!

  • this isnt my cup of tea. I do love "Sunday and Move On"

  • you either love it or you hate it i think

but not all musicals need to have dancing

  • Uhm, this IS a real musical. One of Sondheim's finest, and the most moving piece of theatre I've seen live. This production was incredible, and although I prefer the London/Broadway cast, both Hugh and Billie are terrific performers, the orchestrations have been wonderfully improved, and the set is still absolutely breathtaking. Just because you were bored by the lack of choreography doesn't mean it's a horrible show.

  • Ok, I will say this. It may be a musical, but not my type. When I came to this show, I fell asleep.

  • I kind of agree, but you have to admit this song is simply beautiful.

  • @mcfit707 i think they used the original ones, orchestrations I mean???

  • @KaraokeKid22 It's my understanding that they used the original orchestrations in this production. They cut them down in the Broadway revival, though.

  • @mcfit707

I saw the original Broadway production with Bernadette Peters. I would love to have seen this technologically new production. Still, some of the charm of the original was the magical accompaniments that could be accomplished "low tech". I remember the hush before the beginning of the second act. Many critics complained of how the second act did not work as well as the first. But as far as I'm concerned it was all good and magical.

  • Sad to see this show close, and it shouldn't be missed. One of the best 5th Avenue productions, EVER!!!

  • Saw it tonight and it was way better in person. Will probably see it again before closing I liked it so much.

  • I have to thank you for posting this. This will sadly be the only way I will ever get to see this production.

  • I saw the revival on Broadway. Phenomenal!

  • It's the same production from London and Broadway except the music/orchestration is from the original Broadway production. ALL Sondheim!

  • breathtaking

  • Hey who are you? I was at it too. I was the guy who based my character on the lonely tree man and said the girl was tripping

  • Doin friday at the 5th tomorrow for this
