The definition of punishment fitting the crime would vary from person to person and punishment assigned would vary from person to person. Simple molestation could garner the death penalty if the person who's kid was touched was allowed to decide. But what if the molestor didn't feel he committed a crime?

With the Venus Project, as the first 100 units of some new technology become available, how will it be distributed? Who gets it first? The delivery of technology necessitates the creation of some sort of order or class system just as it does with currency. . There will still be a hierarchy of people making the decisions and a hierarchy of people benefiting from them.
in the new proposed system the people who get the newly created technology first benefit the most. They could even trade their privileges like a commodity for other stuff, like that prime California real estate that’s still scarce. Please don’t pretend real estate as currency is some novel idea. Who will design and build the machines and how will they be compensated? Pretending people will continue to work without compensation by blaming capitalist propaganda is a cop-out.
Will you just give them even more of the stuff that is already in abundance, or perhaps some exclusive stuff that only the contributors enjoy? Would they not just trade those things like any other currency? Who will make sure the machines are not used for the benefit of one person or another, if there is no state or law? Who will prevent organized crime from cornering the market of still scarce primary materials?

By that logic, you could conversely say that nobody should have to go prison, because some people are wrongly convicted. Penalizing the many for the wrong of the few has been beaten to death in debates and it always comes back around to what I just stated above. You simply cannot do it. The biggest, most important information you need to remember is not what, but WHY he is asking for wealthy to pay their "fair share." The reason has nothing to do with fixing the economy, boosting American GDP or anything of the sort. The ONLY reason he wants increased taxes is so that they can continue to spend on entitlements and junk projects, like his stimulus plan, which he wants more of. in the new proposed system the people who get the newly created technology first benefit the most. They could even trade their privileges like a commodity for other stuff, like that prime California real estate that’s still scarce. Please don’t pretend real estate as currency is some novel idea. Who will design and build the machines and how will they be compensated? Pretending people will continue to work without compensation by blaming capitalist propaganda is a cop-out.

Will you just give them even more of the stuff that is already in abundance, or perhaps some exclusive stuff that only the contributors enjoy? Would they not just trade those things like any other currency? Who will make sure the machines are not used for the benefit of one person or another, if there is no state or law? Who will prevent organized crime from cornering the market of still scarce primary materials?

@MadArab The people in control have already had everything in abundance for generations and this utopia has never been their experience, what makes you think this project will be any different with the masses? The cry of “this time it will be different” is as shallow as ever, it’s not different, it’s never different. It has never been different and it never will be. People would find other things to fight about: sex, gossip, art, fashion, music, etc.

@MadArab2012 And 2 last things, money isn't the root of all evil, LOVE of money is. Just because someone has $100 in the bank doesn't mean he loves money any less than the guy with $1m-it also doesn't mean that the guy with 1m loves it any more than the guy with $100. Currency is just a means to aquire THINGS.
And from the way you talk, it sounds to me like you could benefit from someone TEACHING you something. The most primitive societies have a governing hierarchy but they have NO MONEY.

@MadArab2012 And not for nothin'- I dont WANT to live in one of the "planned developments". I LIKE my yard. And plenty of people dancing around a fire naked with spears LIKE to do that. Not everyone wants a hawaiian shirt and a game boy. Not everyone wants to live in MIckey Mouse's Club House. Venus project says "only nutritious and healthy food would be available" Really? So I can't have a bag of doritos? I like doritos. Nevermind that meat hurts SOME but not OTHERS-will there be beef?

@MadArab2012 Karl Marx was NOT a social pioneer. I also have no interest in having the "community" aid in raising my children. Not everyone has the same values. I read the entire venus project website. The whole site is about getting rid of money but doesn't address REAL social issues. It presumes that without money society would be kumbaya but it wouldn't. How many children are abducted annually JUST HERE? It's not for MONEY. That would just suddenly STOP? no.

@MadArab2012 And the venus project HAS "governmentation". It HAS jobs. And also, since you're so confused about the nature of mankind, someone with money doesn't automatically have or want any power. Those that want power find a way to gain it with or without money. A control freak is a control freak is a control freak. And unless you plan on executing everyone that disagrees with this concept, you'll always have that. But that would in turn make YOU the very type of person you claim to hate.

@TheJoozie Have you ever heard of the Rainbow Gathering? They live in the woods and have no govt or money and as far as the little jobs think of how jury duty is run that's kinda how jobs would be. once a week you'd get a letter stating that you had to report to a job that would be WAY easier cuz all youd have to do is press a few buttons. It can be done its just people like you are afraid of change. If one country does it others will follow suit. major crimes =death minor crimes=hard labor

@MadArab2012 first of all, the venus project is NOT described that way so I don't see how you can say "that's kinda how jobs would be". Secondly, those people living in the woods are free to do so and you are free to join them! Third, it isn't that people are "afraid" of change, I personally do not have ANY desire to live in any of the models that the venus project thinks is ideal NOR am I intersted in someone telling me what I can/can't eat or what is/isn't healthy.

@MadArab2012 and lastly, you continue to talk out of your ass. I thought that crimes would be handled by the criminal and the victim how ever they could! one on one! NOW you're saying death for major crimes and hard labor for minor crimes. We have countries that already serve justice in that way- China and North Korea are fine examples of hard labor for minor crimes and death for major crimes. Hell, they even kill people for minor crimes. Who decides what's major and minor?

Yet you would love to force the rest of the world to live the way YOU want if you could. I prefer my house, my yard, my family, my dog, my creek, cooking my own meals, doing my own gardening, doing my own shopping, going to work in my profession.

@MadArab2012 and by the way, the Rainbow Gathering doesn't LIVE in teh woods and have no govt or money. They VISIT the woods and set up TEMPORARY communities. They ALL go back to driving their VWs, Saabs, Audis, Hybrids, etc on their way to work. And if there is a crime committed during one of these GATHERINGS, the REAL authorities would be called in. They wouldn't "handle it" themselves.

It's setup by old ass hippies who trade drugs for food and other shit to help out the community. yes, most people at the rainbow are babylonians as they call us, but the real hippies travel from gathering to gathering by begging for rides/ gas to get there. and no, the real authorities dont handle crimes out there. do you know how many crimes are committed out there? milllions, 99% of which are drug-related.

@MadArab2012 the venus project and the rainbow gathering are polar opposites other than the currency exchange... which it looks like the rainbow project needs that to function as well. I'm certain that if I showed up with $100 I could get whatever I wanted there for it. I don't have a problem with anyone getting whatever kind of buzz they want as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else's life (that includes children) or cause a real crime to be committed (including neglecting children).
