I don't really know why you would need a 5970. The 5870 does one hell of a job on its own. The Eyefinity 6 edition will allow up to six screens, and you can record in full HD on at least three in an array. I can't really see why you would need this one.

got this card, only by ASUS and I can tell you that the fan sound isn't so bad as it sounds because the fan is rarely working at full capacity. I love this card btw, only thing that's frustrating about it is that it hasn't got 3d vision and physx support :(

Having this card on your PC, i say would require ATLEAST an 800w power supply, but thats just to be safe. If you want to go crossfire on that shit i say boost it by 400 more watts to a 1200w. going 3x crossfire would just be overkill for this card.

@RaidersGuru You can't go 3x with this, because that would be 6x crossfire. 2 5970's = quadfire. You're absolutely correct on the suggested wattage on the single card, as suggested is 800w, but when you quadfire them you are only suggested to get 850w (which I personally think is cutting it close, I'd go with no less than 1000w, maybe 1200w depending on other hardware). And hey, can you imagine your electric bill with a setup like that?

The current 5970 is to 5850. The ares is 2 5870 on the same pcb so that 4gb of texture memory. The 5970 4gb version is expensive thou 1000+ dollars but is the most powerful gaming gpu on the market right now.
