I think he is definitely a great artist, but he does have an air around him that makes me believe he does indeed sometimes think he's one step ahead of everyone. Also, his ideas about perpetual noise and background music are frightening to me... And that's why I love this song. It says everything I could ever say about it, but better.
In case any one is wondering this song was written because MGMT tried to get Brian Eno to help publish Congratulations. But he declined. So this song is kinda just slagging him off. Thumbs this up so people can see it.
Do people honestly not know who Brian Eno is? Ok here u go a short burst of info on him - he was in the band Roxy Music until the mid 70's {I think,} which did such singles as "Virginia Plain", "The Strand" ect
He worked with Bowie on what became known as Berlin Trilogy of albums - Low, Heroes & Lodger.. Then Talking Heads - most famously on the albums More Songs About Buildings & Food & Fear Of Music, then U2 {Joshua Tree} oh and o'bleak Stratagems is cards he produced to inspire ideas..
@dassy22 Yeah! Durrr :P I got to hug him And take a pic with Ben at SunFest. Andrew Wears Soft shirt. I hope he remembers me, Considering i am Eleven, and probably the youngest one there.
I remember how much i hated the first album of this band,i didnt liked it at all,but one day my brother was listening this song and i heard the last part.i was really impressed so i gave the album a chance
Congratulations was probably the album i heard most the last year-completely amazing.that should teach me not to judge bands so hard
For everyone who doesn't know who Brian Eno is, he is an extremely influential figure in Avant-Garde Rock, Ambient music, Electronic music and Pop music in general. He was in Roxy Music, he's produced albums for Talking Heads, U2, Coldplay, James, John Cale and many many more. He also worked with David Bowie on some of his most well known albums. The Windows 95 startup sound was also created by him. A lot of the genres today probably wouldn't be what they are without Brian Eno.
U ppl are all idiots Brian eno is a musician from the 70s and the coralation is mgmts music is based on a 70s tone so if you want more music like mgmt check out some 70s music I promise ull like it as much as I do
brian eno is some weird dude that makes ambient music and made the noise for windows 95..or so my cousin says not sure but his guess is better than mine
brian eno is, he's probably the most accomplished producer of the 20th and 21st centuries. if you're wondering what albums he produced, think coldplay — viva la vida, the joshua tree — U2, genesis' "the lamb lies down on broadway", in addition to working with depeche mode, devo, and being pretty much half of "the talking heads" and performing with david bowie on many of his most famous albums. he's on everything, but he's like a ghost that you only know about if you read the album credits.
