they did produce a hybrid and fuel cell ev1 in euro but those were were in limited production and destroyed few still stand tall but are diabled but they are in a GM mueseum in euro if im not mistakein
go to google maps and satelite view it'll be near I10 exit 246 firestone road. you'll see the over head view of a huge oval and alot of other track designs.
Cool vid, I love electric cars. However, I don't think that is the Mesa proving grounds. I am a pilot and fly over that area on a daily basis, and I can tell you there aren't really as many trees as in that vid.
0-60 mph 7.5 seconds, 140-160 miles range on NiMH batteries, 70-100 miles range on lead acid batteries, governor limited to 80 mph top speed(186 mph without governor!), 3-phase synchronous AC motor with 100 kW inverter made by none other than Alan Cocconi. .19 drag coefficient, 20 square foot frontal area, 2,900 pound curb weight. If mass produced, this car could have been comparable in price to cars of similar acceleration performance.
my '99 Vette tops out at 175 mph with 350 hp, so 183 mph is cooking! Said GM crushed them all : (

Unbelievable! So the car's power had to have been dramatically limited. But at this speed the batteries might drained within a few minutes.
Is there a full version of the speed test video in better quality? I would love to watch it!

@SOPM2007 Actually, they added what they called a "six pack" of batteries where the passenger seat went, so this one was a real hot rod.

That's video must be a hoax.
Everyone knows electric cars are slow, they're ugly, and they can only go 20 miles before running flat.
Most importantly everyone would much rather pay for gas each week.
It must be true otherwise GM wouldn't have crushed the EV1. Right?
Anyone?
Hello?
(yes it's sarcasm!)
