  • check that 525 likes and 1 dislike, wow, actually it should be 0 dislikes

  • This is a joy to listen to. Rhythmically I find this intriguing.

  • He looks like Common

  • @pozzog Common looks like him lol.

  • i dont like monk that much (havent listened to him a lot though) cos it always sounds so nerve-wracking and tense, but i really like this song

  • I instantly knew what this song was when I heard it

    I don't know which I love more

    this one

or the version with Louis Armstrong.

  • It's just some guy pounding on the keyboard. Listen to Katy Perry if you want some real music.

  • @MrDreamTheater2 I'm afraid you have it backwards. :(

  • @MrDreamTheater2 trollololol

  • @MrDreamTheater2 does troll want a cookie?

  • This is poignant, poetic side of Monk I'd not seen before.

Monk is for me, like Bach, above all a brilliant musical logician.

  • One of Monk's errant fingers hit the dislike button.

  • @lesterdove Kidding, of course - I've always wanted to make a dumb dislike button joke, and this was my big chance.

  • I guess the dude who clicked "don't like" wanted to express solitude his own way...

  • I was so fortunate to see him once in a small coffee house in Georgetown. His music makes my skin tingle.

  • I'm tearing up...my goodness this is absolutely beautiful

  • Increible pieza

  • His music speaks to the soul of humanity. Everything will be alright.

  • @MegaCurley I mean no offense, this is positive of his music. The man, however, became increasingly asocial(insane even) in his late years

  • @hgoojPtc He had an unknown mental disease, his son said his father didn't recognize him at times. Though without that mental disorder he might have never made this music. And that would truly be a shame.

  • for Bobsunda....Monk and G.Gould, in dif. styles.... of course they are leaders... but Peterson, Rubenstein, Evans and people who where BORN to play the piano, now and in the future..... (N.Simone is not in rest for pure afro-US-jazz !) soul, technic and emotions....

  • one of the m-o-s-t b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l songs I EVER ever ever heard in all my life. I mean it really, because I <3 Michael Jackson, and Frejat, and brazilian, and so on music, but this... piece... of Thelonius... Jesus... ICH HABE GAENSEHAUT!

  • He is in really solitude. His ballad playing sounds to remember lost memories.

  • we all have a voice that is srong. Yours is missing.

  • @Ken9Skinner What do mean by this?

  • I think Coltrane's version of this song is better, nevertheless, still a beautiful song..

  • @shattstar03 Each one has his taste, and I think you're quite comparing Gold with Diamond!

  • Monk's chord is phenomenal, no one play the piano or feel the piano like he dose imo. I might be wrong!!

  • @bobsunda

    You're not.

  • @bobsunda u might be wrong in your spelling of does as well

  • @bobsunda bill evans is my fav. monk is good tho.

  • ... beautiful.

  • Beautiful, I never knew there were so many versions of solitude.
