  • only thing that bothers me in the video is the homo neanderthalis to homo sapiens, actually both existed at the same time and were different branches...homo neanderthalis died out (most likely due to homo sapiens expanding his territory into the north)

  • There is so much wrong with this video i dont know where to start....

    Gorillas are bipeds too.

We didnt evolve from the gorilla..

Homo neanderthalis was a seperate human species, not an ancestor.

    Sorry.

  • @Freeze01: Yes, agreed. I think people make this sort of video just for exercise; - they obviously aren't really meant to teach anything. I especially dislike the pictures of he species leading up to man, where they all appear to be smaller, with much less defined features than the last one does.

One thing - gorillas are not considered bipeds, because they (and chimps, and orangs) knuckle walk when going more than a few yards. Specifically a biped does not knuckle walk. Ardi didn't.

  • homo dinkus erectus lmao

  • Not likely, not even in fundamentalist religious thought. To them we are a manufactured object, like Pinocchio.

  • And all of them without penis. Thank you anglo-saxon puritan youwithoutube.

  • Why only monkeys had evolve, what about the other animals, Are they so stupid they couldnt evolve?

  • All the other animals are evolving and have been evolving too. How can you be "too stupid to evolve". Evolution happens over thousands of generations, it isn't willed into existance by anything.

  • Strategy isn't a spontanous accident.

  • Every animal living today evolved as long as you did.

  • @Maratrushka: All life evolves. Grasses evolved after he dinosaurs died out, chimps evolved from our common ancestor of 6 mya just as we did. Cats evolve, whales evolve. There's even videos about them; go search. Intelligence is a result of evolution, not a reason.

  • so true

  • Darwin did not say we came from monkeys, but rather we came from a common ancestor. related to the primates some where down the line.

  • Look at the variation in similar species and you will see differences according to enviromential setting. Life is influenced by the environment. For example Darwin noticed these slight variations when he embarked on a five year journey from in the 1830's to study different species of Finches on the Galapagos Islands. Go to any University and read his actually works; do not pay attention to general consensus, as it is often wrong.

  • whats the name of the tune in this vid

  • we were never monkeys dumb shits. darwin is a fuck wit

  • Nobody ever said we were monkeys.

  • "we were never monkeys dumb shits. darwin is a fuck wit"

No, your right, we were never monkeys - but we did evolve from a common ancestor. Another idiot that doesnt know the first thing about evolution. You will find that the more you learn about it the less prejudices you have.

  • cool tune

  • Homo erectus vs neanderthal in a fight who would win?

  • We homo spaiens won yeah! :D

  • I'm a neanderthal and I say that evolution is NOT cool!

  • how can you be a neanderthal and if you are you are the only survivor of your species.send me some of your pictures man.

  • Dude. Its biped. Bio means "life". Bi means "two", ped meaning "foot." We get this name from the fact that we walk on two feet.

  • the only sensible comment on the page.

  • it's probably just a typo.

  • Go monkey man.

  • haha i thought somebody would notice and here it is in the comments haha

  • what is the big deal? it's only a theory!

  • First of all: quotes from scripture only proves that you are a scientific illiterate.

    2. humans ARE great apes (Hominidae) like gorillas and chimpanzees - that is a biological FACT!

    3. We SHARE a common ANCESTOR with other great apes and we are closely related to chimpanzees.

    4. We branched from the family tree 4 Millions years ago - we are still primates

Grow up and get yourself educated!!!

  • @ExMuslim75 The fourth point is flawed: The split occurred betwen 5 to 10 million years ago.

  • In fact the archaeological evidence shows us that the bible is completely fictitious. The huge amount of study of the holy land since the turn of the last century shows us with what really happened. There were no Hebrew people, not a shard of pottery has ever been found to support their existence, What there is, is Canaanites and in 500BC a propaganda book in the state of Judah. No flood, No exodus, No David, Solomon was king of Judah not Israel. You are basing your beliefs on lies.

  • @marsCubed: I agree with your thesis, but...

The Tel Dan stele, dated to some time older than 735 BCE, commemorates a victory by a Syrian clan against "a king of the house of David", though that interpretation is in conflict. That is the first hard evidence of any biblical personage. There is an Egyptian mention of the clan of Isreal a couple hundred years before that. There is a recovered abecedarian from Tel Zayit dated 10th century BCE that demonstrates Hebrew/Phoenician writing. ...

  • ... The common archaeological interpretation of this data is that Canaanites settled the area of Judeah/Israel well before 2000 BCE, underwent considerable internal strife, and morphed into Israel in the 9th century BCE. No invasion from the east required.

Finally there is no hard evidence of Solomon's temple. Canaanites, Phoenicians and Israelites/Judeans/Hebrews appear to be culturally, linguistically and religiously the same peoples.

  • @puncheex I actually mention the Assyrian connection and fall of Israel in an earlier comment.

Israel was a Canaanite state, I do not deny it's existence.

The Archaeology places Solomon in Judah not Israel.

Yahweh was part of the Canaanite pantheon for instance and is found with wife (Esherah) and brothers (baals AKA mountains) before c.650BCE

Josiah (Judah) made a myth of his justifiable dominion over the whole region after the fall of Israel. It is also why it became a monotheistic theocracy.

  • @marsCubed: I agree. It appears that Josiah and Hilkiah conspired to enforce the monotheistic religion to foster a sense of separation from others in Israel and Judah, an us vs them. The Egypt came up and cleaned his clock.

  • Yep, proven to be the case. Sad they didn't survive.

  • thats right!

  • And to all the people that have discredited my comment about God being incompatible with evolution. Please tell me how you can possibly hypothesize anything contradictory to evolution within the discoveries of science. You might act like I'm talking like A fool but at the end of the day no hard wishing on your part is gonna make anything true!!!!

  • Is your point that it's god that's more real, or is it evolution?

  • Anyone who's really bored with debating theists might want to read a wonderful book called "The Scars of Evolution" by Elaine Morgan. These picture visualise a straight morph between the ape we came from and the people we are today, but the true change was more complex - we walked long before we got larger brains, for example. The theists stifle debate because you have to keep explaining big numbers to those morons. But If you're interested in a novel take on evolution, read Elaine's book.

  • all the apes have human feet...good drawings...

  • my beleif is that everyone is somehow scared..of being godless..maybe the thought is overwelming that we evolved from apes to alot of people but in all reality we did..im not saying it is totally wrong to worship your "gods" because there are many, but if ignorance prevails on all sides it will be our "savior" that kills us all ..oh the irony :|

  • People are scared of the unkown, so they invoke absolutist beliefs.

Part of applying scientific method is the knowledge that you don't know everything and may never know everything. Some people are very uncomfortable with that.

  • Evolution is incompatible with the theory of Creation, yes, but it doesn't deprove the possibility of existence of God.

I mean, for example, you could speculate that God just pushed a big red button, launching the Big Bang, and has since watched us all from a divine armchair.

    Who knows? ;|

  • i agree completely, he was to rash in saying what he said , but if i understand him correctly(and im just assuming here) i think he means the judeo-christian god

i'm not a big fan of this yaweeh and i hate it when people infer it when speaking of the creation of the human species.

"I mean, for example, you could speculate that God just pushed a big red button, launching the Big Bang, and has since watched us all from a divine armchair."

who pushed a button for this god?

  • all this works with the assumption that there is a god. i think this is unlikely, based on the celestial teapot, or invisible unicorn argumant. it cannot be proved or disproved, so it is not sensible to believe. also carbon dating an dna just about prove evolution.

  • Hmm, big red button, divine armchair - like God's like a super-president, you mean?

Are you one of those Americans we've heard about that doesn't have a passport?

    I bet you are.

  • "Hmm, big red button, divine armchair - like God's like a super-president, you mean?

Are you one of those Americans we've heard about that doesn't have a passport?

    I bet you are."

Was that for me? At least the second part doesn't make any sense (if you're referring to me), might want to clear it up a bit, what to whom, etc, eh? :p

  • Yeah, sorry, I was being grumpy. Imagining god in a big amchair pressing buttons to get things done - it's depressing that someone would imagine that.

  • My god, do you really think that????

  • Yes, which proves there is no god, so no problem there, smart people knew that all along.

  • the last message was in response to Spike378.

  • I believe in both God and evolution. The human body is an animal and a primate that evolved from other species. The human soul, however, comes from God. The soul is humanity, the body is an animal vehicle for the soul.

  • Or, there is no such thing as a soul. It is immodest and intellectually dishonest not to admit this possibility. I'm glad that you don't believe in any creation myths, but why hold on to other supernatural claims?

  • I dont think it really make sense since the Catholic Church opposes evolutions and God creates all creatures on Earth himself so evolution can not exist within God. So dont try to integrate evolution into God to make yourself feel better. Evolution has evidence. God has none but just scriptures

  • Well you're wrong. I'm Catholic, and I know for a fact that the church does NOT oppose Darwinian evolution. Pope John Paul II said it was entirely feesible that the human body is the product of evolution. I was always taught at my catholic schools the theory of evolution in science classes.

  • Did they teach you how those wafers literally turn into flesh so you can practise your little cannibalistic ritual?

  • "Evolution has evidence. God has none but just scriptures"

i do agree with you on that

but i dont agree with the catholic church thing , they do accept evolution, well at least most of them and the last pope john paul II

  • where the falling angel meets the rising ape

that supports creation and evoultion theories

i think ill go with that one then XD

  • I'm a monkey!

  • You're a joke!

  • evolution is fact

We have the same characteristics and similar shape to monkeys.

There an unevolved version of us.

Wanting to live for eternity is quite greedy.

  • It Is true but not exactly, the monkeys are evolved like us from the same prehistoric monkey but their branch has divided from us millions of years before, we have the same years of evolution and both have the same antecesor. I´m completing your words not censuring ;)

  • and why is that?

  • Made up? Then you're going to have to break it to the anthropological scientific community that all those skeletons, genetic samples, and 100+ years of study was for nothing. I forgot that religion explains everything, and not hard, concrete, CONFIRMED science. Remember that the bible was written by a relatively primitive humanity; thunder was god's wrath, and floods meant that somebody upstairs was pissed. But you're the expert, not me.

  • Eduard392, your ignorance regarding the process of reconstructing our hominid ancestors is no substute for an arguement. While mistakes have been made by artists their work in offering a glimpse of how a creature might have looked in life is not valueless. After all, what better way is there to bring the thousands of individuals specimines to life in a meaningfull way to the public?Which part of the forensic reconstruction process is it that you find so weak?

  • Once again, these are not real, we have never seen a real full body of your little ape friends, we have found skulls, nothing else. Lucy is the biggest joke i have seen, and will not even talk about that. And again, these are pictures, nothing more.

  • Eduard392, you may not know this but skulls were once heads, and heads sit on top of bodies,(In bipedal locomotion at least). Therefore your strange contention that these skulls aren't real seems a little odd to me. As far as your claim about skeletons goes, try looking up Nariokotome boy WT 15000, kebara 2, Sts 14, La Chepelle-aux-Saints. There has also been a recent discovery of a near complete A. afarensis (Same species as Lucy) but I can't remember the name.

  • 2) I enjoyed your scientific analysis of Lucy as a 'joke'. Since most of the key anatomical features required to infer bipedal locomotion are present, I fail to see how this rather rash and ignorant interpretation can have any validity whatsoever. I would recommend that you read a book on the subject and then get back to me. From Lucy to Language is a good starting point.

  • A good rough sketch, but very simplistic and a little inaccurate. Our evolution was a very non-linear process. More like a tree than a ladder. Neanderthals were cousins-not ancestors; and the Gorilla in the beginning should not be there.
