  • Why aren't we so silly any more?!

  • OMG it's a living skeleton! Quick, get the desintergrating ray- oh, Bill just sat on it. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO :O

  • There where before of after Benny Hill?

  • Gee, you need a helping hand, we can make you understand<3

  • I would go back in time just to see this on tv

  • now I understand why alex mitchell died lol

  • Always remember that they were very good friends with the Pythons, especially Tim Brooke-Taylor and Bill Oddie. Tim, Graham Chapman, and John Cleese were particularly close. If you watch the footage from Graham's memorial service, all three Goodies are there.

  • Shame that this was the theme for just one season (even if it was the longest)

  • i cant believe anyone disliked this

  • The Goodies, Classic!

  • brilliant show :) many great memories with the goodies

  • The Monkeys of Britain??

  • @TheGallianthe The Monkees were an imitation of The Beatles.

  • Thats one of the best episodes, especially at the start when Graeme is teaching Tim Kung Fu  xD

  • I grew up watching the Goodies and it still makes me laught to this day!!

  • The skeleton stepping out of the x-ray machine. Funny

So was the exploding balloon pants.

Amazing that three men like these guys are right up there

in good funny comedy along with Monty Python's Flying

    Circus and Benny Hill.

Not just because they are British... they were so damned hilarious!

  • @Blackroo1967 I try so hard and fail every time when I try not to giggle at the opening of the fridge right there.

  • A man actually died from this show laughing.

  • the one with the axe and the tree runs aways is that Graeme and ? tree have to be either Tim or Bill shame that was only filmed for the credits

  • @Andyrt35 I've often wondered where that clip comes from [running tree/axe] : in the branches, there seems to be old-style ball and chains, maybe it's an out-take from series 4 's 'Goodies in the Nick', but I ain't sure.

  • did you know the only man on earth who ever died laughing, was watching this show. he laughed for 20 minutes, collapsed and died.

  • @jortjuuuuuh Yeh he was watching the "ecky thump" episode.

  • Four people need a helping hand...

  • No one gets hit or takes a fall better than Graeme. No one!

  • So wonderfully random!! I love them:)

  • The slapstick was great, but Goodies remains one of the best written shows of the seventies...

  • I wish I could get the mp3 for this I love the goodies!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TVjunkie7598 I have it

  • @se7en1976 Seriously! where the heck did u get it?

  • @TVjunkie7598 Kazaa, years ago. I went through a phase of collecting TV themes.

  • I used to think it said goodie goodie gum drops lmao

  • There are only repeats on for The 1 week? Am I right :'(

  • Thanks for posting this! I haven't seen this since I was a kid living in Australia.

  • Just brilliant-thanks for the posting! And yes-watch out for the repeats on BBC2 over Christmas-I can't wait!

  • Goodies repeats are on BBC2 over Christmas! At last they get some long overdue repeats!

  • I loved The Goodies as a kids, and forgot how good they really were, please BBC bring it back!

  • I loved The Goodies as a kid, still love them now, please BBC bring it back!

  • ok... graeme garden is in this thing.... I HAVE to watch this...

  • wasn't there a third version of the goodies theme as well?

  • I love the goodies I sooo wish they would repeat them once and a while!

  • You know a show's funny when someone dies of laughter watching it.

  • Thanks for uploading this...This is a show most people I know don't remember...I used to love this show way back in the day.

  • Best Version!

  • Yes, this is the opening I remember from US Public TV's run of GOODIES.For some reason, American TV only got a few seasons(Series)from the middle of their run on BBC, but not the early or later ones.

  • This opening is taken from the episode that was so funny it killed a guy.

  • And now.... a walk in the black forest...

  • The Goodies rool OK!!!!

  • Alex Mitchell, who spent his final moments laughing uncontrollably at an episode of the 1970s "The Goodies,"... laughed for 25 straight minutes before he "slumped on the settee" and died of heart failure.

  • @equaleyez187 I thought he saw the WIlliam Shatner performance of Rocket Man.

  • @manzi71 // what you're saying is possible, i just read this on the internet..

  • @equaleyez187 Yes, I believe it was the Ecky Thump episode? Very memorable send up of northern characters. Brilliant! "Tha don't mackem like that n'more!"

  • The Goodies was the show that a man died laughing to. I think it was 1976, but I don't know for sure. After 25 minutes of laughing, 50 year old Alex something's ( I think Mitchell) heart gave out.

  • @chrisk22021 The programme WAS the Goodies. He was an occasional guest on the show. The Goodies took the mick out of themselves quite frequently.

Humour is very subjective and subject to taste. I personally like the Goodies but you're welcome to your opinion.

  • classic. remember Tim's Union Jack underpants :)

  • no better!

  • pure genius..gotta love british comedy

  • SOO GOOD.

  • These guys where so funny someone died from laughing!!! I LOVE THE GOODIES AND I'M 13!!!

  • exactly the smae here 13 and laffing soo much. i have 4 dvds of theese guys

  • It was actually this episode that did it. Kung Fu Capers or Eckythump. Not sure which title they went with.

  • @adriciscute3 i love the goodies and i'm 12

  • @adriciscute3 saame!

  • @adriciscute3 best programme back in the 70`s. Laugh all the way.

  • OMG this takes me back like 30+ years!!!

  • Mr Tim Brooke Taylor Who Use To Be In The Goodies Has Got A House At Lagos On The Algarve In Portugal And Mr Graeme Garden Who Was In The Goodies As Well Has Got A House At Lagos In The Algarve In Portugal Nr To Tim Brooke Taylor House And I Do Live Nr Them As Well It Is True

  • @dDWIGgyWAM soooo..... Where's Bill? ,'=S

  • LOL, the font of their title(s) always reminds me of SPANGLES !!!!!!1....LOL....

  • Great! So it's not just me then.

  • lol....nope....

  • God, they spent a lot of time in drag, didn't they?

Man, they just don't make comedy like this any more, in America OR Britain. Classic, pure classic.

  • re: Drag. Well yes, they are English.

  • this was theme 2

  • after all these years; I still start cracking up when the pants blow up... LOL!!!

    Thanks for posting...

  • The fridge and the Bell is still my favourite

  • I just read on Snopes that a guy died laughing during a taping of this show...

  • I believe it was the Ecky Thump episode.

  • I remember the Ecky Thump episode! I died laughing at that!

  • Someone actually did and it made the papers. The daughter of the man actually went to one of their stage shows recently.

  • This is fantastic. Better then the shit that comes from another country that so crap when it comes to comedy

  • e.g. america

  • Yep, your right

  • And speaking AS an American...

our comedies DO lack what yours don't...

...something genuinely funny like sight gags

and silliness. I miss THOSE very important

    elements.

  • This was so out there and so over the top... We need something like this today- too bad the P.C. police wouldn't allow it:(

  • This is the intro I remember most! Thanks for sharing...great stuff

  • Its one of the Best Adult shows ever :)some of the early Episodes on the Comedy channel have been Rated M

  • They just knew how to work on different levels in the 1970s. Both "The Goodies" and "Doctor Who" had audiences ranging from 8-80!

  • best kids comedy show ever.

  • Kids comedy?! Its for everyone! Young and old!

  • quite true, but then, we are all a little bit kiddish at heart now aren't we? =)

  • oh i loved it so much!!!!11

  • me too!!

  • Is the one where fumes turn everyone into clowns on dvd?

  • No, not yet. Hopefully all episodes will be on dvd

  • I had 8 years old at that time !

    The goodies were my favorites!

  • where can i watch the full version of 0:22?

  • The scene a 22 seconds with the fridge was actually a spoof commercial about butter spreading straight from the fridge. It was from an episode called Winter Olympics. In the first four series they used to do spoof commercial breaks, because Graeme and Bill would literally write half of each episode, so Graeme maybe wrote part 1 and Bill wrote part 2.

  • Classic! This is joy in song!

  • Blimey O'Reiley! This takes me back! No wonder I'm so screwed up as an adult.

  • This is the best version of the theme. Even though this was the most memorable of the themes and was tweaked slightly for later series, this one is the best.

  • G - You need a helping hand O- You know we understand O- We'll be there to the end, Everyone needs a friend, A goody-goody-goody D - You should definitely Y- You should enquire and see E - We take any old line, Anything, anytime Hey hey hey, Goodies, goody goody yum yum, Goodies, were coming for you, Goodies, goody goody yum yum Here we come into town, getting up and falling down.
  • i wish they'd release the whole thing on DVD, not just a couple of DVD's like they have here in Australia. Such a good funny show!

  • legends , yes i want dvds to study ancient scottish martial art of ekythump

  • God, these guys were silly! This has to be the best comedy series opening song ever. Further proof, should any be needed, that the Brits are the funniest people in the world.

  • @ArcaneAzmadi Haha, I agree. I think their the best comedy series too. I remeber my dad showing me these 3 for the first time. I wasn't keen on the idea of them at first but I fell for it after watching it.

I'd love to see more stuff like this nowadays.

  • @ArcaneAzmadi Well said.

  • @ArcaneAzmadi Cheers mate!

  • @ArcaneAzmadi What are you tal... nvm.

  • HOLY CRAP...........where can I get the DVD's of this show????? I used to watch this in the late 1970's while in middle school. I HAVE to get these DVD's!!!!!!

  • can someone upload the episode 'gender education"? i remember that one being especially good.

  • The "Take A Little Good Advice" Theme From The First Few Seasons Is Way Better

  • Interesting to see that a few of the clips in the opening titles didn't actually come from the series itself, including:

00.10- The Goodies as Pan's Grannies

00.22- Man chopping tree as it runs away

00.24- Large bell falling on top of Tim

    00.26. Tim on vaulting horse

  • Sounds like a lot of us remember this from PBS

back in the seventies. Yeah, I seem to have goodie goodie yum yum! etched in my brain too.

  • goodies theme monty pythons theme with the pipes bending and the benny hill chase theme will always be remembered forever...great pbs shows from the 70's!

  • I remember accidently seeing this on PBS when I was in 5th grade! I only caught one episode. The next day, a couple of kids said, "DId you see that crazy shit on ch.13? There was some midget named Rolf Harris and they were smacking the shit out of each other with things they called 'black puddings'! I said, "Yeah, goodie-goodie-yum-yum! What the fuck was that!" Today I was watching The Sweet videos from Top of the Pops, and I saw The Goodies there. I said "Holy Shit, obscure blast from the past"

  • man I loved this show as a kid...I think my parents thought I was confused....anyone remember when they were inside the dinosuar?...fav Of all time, and it probably wasn't even funny.

  • That's the only one I remember! Where can I find it? I was very young. I'll tell you story if you ask.

  • I remember watching this on PBS, too, when I was a kid. Sometimes I just sing "Goodie Goodie Yum Yum" out of the blue. It's stuck in my brain somewhere trying to get out.

  • I loved this show when i was a kid... love it thanks

  • wats the actual song called?

  • I have fond memories of watching this show on PBS when I was a kid. I was hooked and my family was amused that I would be obsessed with something so strange. Love the Goodies! Wish I could get them on DVD.

  • you can look it up.

  • I loved this show, brings back memories. I remeber watching the last episode.... and my friend called and talked throughout the entire episode. Ahh 30 years ago!.
