we had a tv-report about crows months ago, where they did show exactly the same "trick".they said, that they would put the treat close to the fround where the crow could easely reach his treat, he would go from the ground to pick up.if not, methode two.compared to a ape - a ape would allways go the same way.
I'm a (small-time) donor, and I sometimes have to bring in animals. My neighbors cat was catching fledglings last spring, and I was recruited to take them in. Most distressing.
Marin Wildcare does very important work. I'm a big fan.
Also, more than 40 years ago (ghasp -- I was a small child), I would go there to visit a poor seal (Easter) that lived in the pool. We lived over on Dubois.
hehe, i was also a small child 40 years ago. i'm sure i must have visited Easter as well. i am also a big fan. i volunteer wed 9-1. come by and say hi to Loki and Eulalie (the ravens). they just might say hi back ; )
Thanks; I might do that. If you folks need any little videos of your charges, I might be able to volunteer to do that. I have a few random videos on youtube... None of wildlife yet, though.
Might be fun to film the birds, with the caretakers giving short bios. Kind of an explanation of what lives there and why. Haven't even checked to see if that exists...
Keep up the good work, and say Hi to those gorgeous pelicans...
oh yeah!

Ravens are very smart and cleaver.

Watching this makes me smile. I have never liked children, but this must be what it's like when baby-lovers see a baby try to talk.
