@starODSTFAN no, baseball players hit the ball harder because the ball is coming in alot faster. Also if you strike and miss, you aren't running the risk of being bowled (or pitched as it would be). As for mitts, well it's not hard to catch a cricket ball in the sense that it doesn't hurt. Also it is alot smaller than a baseball, allowing you to get a better hold onto it. I'm not saying cricket players are tougher than baseball players, nor the other way round, there just different games.

@paintball31 there is swing (the ball swings in the air) there is spin, the ball changes direction after it bounces and depending on the pitch - it can make the bounce high or low, fast or slow. in baseball the pitchers don't put swing on the ball, and it doesn't bounce - therefore it doesn't spin and you can't be deceived.

@Airpower085 from my understanding, a wicket - in baseball terms - is an out. The inning ends when there are 10 wickets(outs) or 20 over. where 1 over consist of 6 legal bowls(pitches). It took me 2 videos, and several minutes of wikipedia to find the gist of the game

At the end of this video, the second team up to bat scored 4 points to... as far as I can tell... tie the game, correct? They had the SAME number of points as the other team (and several balls left as well)... but they didn't have to score the "go ahead" point? Is it just assumed that they had enough balls left to score one measly point... or does the second team up to bat only have to tie the score to win???

Cricket's similar to baseball in that there's batting and pitching (bowling in cricket's case), there are runs (action similar to playing Pickle), home runs (called 6s), and there are outs. Pitchers (called bowlers) change every over (similar to an inning), and the batting team continues batting until all members are out. The bowler tries to hit the wicket (the sticks behind the batter), similar to pitching to a catcher. Hitting a wicket results in an out. Correct me if I'm wrong on anything.

@bigchrisram Its T20 so each team gets 10 batters or 20 overs per "inning". 1 over = 6 bowls (pitches). Each time the batters change position its 1 run. You get 4 runs for batting the ball over the boundary on a bounce and 6 runs for what amounts to a homerun.

A batter is out if the bowler strikes the wicket with a bowl or his hit is caught. If the batters are switching position and the wicket is knocked off before the cross the line they are out as well.
