Question about you jazz players: Why do you always call minor seventh simply "minor"?? (like in the example above, your Gmin == G Bb D F, that to me is a Gmin7) ....? Just wondering.
@delt01 Gm is just a quick way to refer to Gm7. Jazzers pretty much treat harmony as at least using the 7th by default. Of course you're right, though, technically speaking!

The B-natural is not part of a harmonic substitution; it's a chromatic passing tone (between B-flat and C).

You're right, but you can think of it either way since jazz players very often turn the m7 into a dominant 7.
