There is an overload protection of sorts, but each inverter is different. I made a drastic mistake the other day. My coleman 2000 watt is hooked up to the system at all times and If I need to run something heavy duty, I run the generator and make sure the inverter is shut off. Well, I recently bought a 5000 watt Aim inverter and it works great on the heavy duty equippment., but the batteries were low the other day and I started the generator and fried my new inverter. It was turned off.

great video, inverters are definitely the way forward, now we just need a cost effective way to harness radiant/solar energy....soon we will be charging the grid and getting electricity for free!

I have an off the grid set up with solar and wind. I have three inverters for three areas, but could easily be tied together, but I have been afraid to use more than one at a time. If I need more power than one can give, will it damage them to work together?
