Lessons please!! I just bought my first Strat, a used '99 American Standard. I've played dual humbuckers all my life and I am having trouble dialing in a solid strat tone on my Mesa Express 5:25 that doesn't sound tinny, thin and weak. This vid inspires me to keep messing with the amp. Any EQ advice for the Strat? thanx.

Mike, you would make a fantastic showman. Just WATCHING you play is entertaining, you look like you're having a lot of fun. That along with the excellent music just instills a feeling of happiness that most guitarists can't hope to match. Part of me would love to see you up on a big stage, earning money for doing this.. The read I get from your facial expressions is that maybe you think this piece is simple and silly for a player of your caliber. I hope that's not the case because the song and your playing are just fantastic. Music doesn't have to be technically challenging to play to be good. The real art is in crafting a beautiful song that can make the listener feel a certain way. This piece does this for me and you should be rightfully proud of it. Great tone, great melody (and yes, great chops too).

Excellent tone and you are so funny!!. I came to this video cause I am ordering a Mesa Express 5:50 head today and I needed to hear the amp online just a little more. Now, I am convinced that I am making the right decision to buy the Mesa. So many players try to grind away on some metal junk on these videos, therefore the amp doesn't sound very good at all. You make the Mesa sound perfect!!

Mike, that's a great sounding strat for sure. I had an 89 plus as well. It was shark grey. If you want to keep in good condition, DON'T use the trem! If you look under the pickguard, you'll see that only a TINY narrow strip of wood (between the bathtub rout, and the trem block rout, is where Fender decided to put the 2 posts that support the bridge! When these started to crack left and right, Fender stopped making them. Mike

Hi, honestly I have never tried Main Squeeze with acoustic guitar. With electric it is one of the better pedal compressors.
