As long as you have the desire and heart to graduate, then you can become a Marine. DO NOT let these people scare you into thinking boot camp is this impossible thing to accomplish. The asvab is a general knowlage test. If you take it at a MEPS office it tests a few different mathmatical areas like algebra, math word questions and questions like 3x + 4 = 3x - 4. Find the value of x. It also tests mechanics knowlage like does a present day model car need a carborator if it has a fuel injector? It will also test on science, word recognition, and many other things you've learned throughout your school years.

P.S. Marines are not called Marine Soldiers, they are Marines

Yeah it depends, my friend was recruited with a GED, they told he he might have to take 15 semester hours of college or something like that but he ended up going no strings attached. But like i said it varies with each recruiter.
