  • you should just list all the songs he has ever played, because they are all good

  • great video but probably every ratm song is Tim Commerford's best bass line

  • yeah..you wanna watch MR. Morello play in the sandbox with Bruce Shitstain...you go RIGHT ahead...man sorry TIM but you got overtaken by the GUITARIST that sold out for being BORN IN THE USA, and xbox rights....NO OFFENCE"..loved TOM with Rage ...but seriously....am really thinking he might be with the AMERICANS now!!!

  • @Unsung19 keep raging man......

  • The main thing about Timmy as a bass player is his incredible sense of groove! His sense of groove is what most bass players wish they could have. Also his tone is equally incredible! "Tire Me" is a testament to that. He is a true inspiration to any would be bass player because he keeps his bass lines simple yet equally taseful. Timmy C is a bass hero.

  • him and flea are two of my favorites

  • @TysweetMusic flea wins in composition, timmy wins in tone, but they're both my inspirations

  • When I begun bass, I didn't know why I played this instrument. Then, I discovered Timmy C. and found a sens to my life.

  • He doesn't play anything that won't fit. He's a true rhythm driven player. One of the best at what he does.

  • omg i effin love rage!!!!! I listened to this with studio headphones, amazing. and darkness of green is so amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Timmy C and Brad wilk are the best rythm section ever!!! Hip Hop, funk, metal, all at once? Thats dope.

  • Hey, what´s first song sound in this video???

  • @JorgeAlvarezFernande "Clear the Lane" on their Live and Rare album

  • Oh God that Lakland Skyline is soooo sexyyyy!

  • Even though it's extremely simple, I'm ashamed Township Rebellion wasn't in this.

  • Okay for a second I was worried you weren't going to put the second bullet in the head riff

  • tim c saw him live and in front of with rage fucking amazing

  • Tim and Brad are one of the tightest rhythm sections I've ever heard. Tim's so fucking groovy.

  • I love his tone its a eargasm i matched his tone one time but can find it agan

  • WHAT?!?!

    NO 'Wake up'??!?!

    OUTRAGEOUS

  • Timmy C is definitely underrated, he can make the most simple bassline absolutely fuckin sick. i mean if you notice most of his shit is like 4 separate notes but damn he knows how to work with a little and make it alot. not easy to do.

  • Good bassist, the band..eehh not so much.

  • @N11Ckk123472 Wich of them. He played in RATM as in Audioslave :l

  • you should have kept clam like abomb going. That pedal bass line is one of the nastiest of all time

  • killing in the name of has the most iconic bass line of all times, even though I like all RATM and Audioslave songs with Tim : )

  • Calm Like a Bomb is my favorite

  • lets just say whatever timmy plays is fucking basass...makes it alot easier

  • the bass in know your enemy is so fucking badass, and also the second part of bullet in the head...both are so fucking good ><

  • the start of bombtrack is guitar not bass

  • @TenaciousGav Its both guitar and bass

  • @TenaciousGav but the bass is backing it

  • Influenced by Geddy Lee the best.

  • I picked up a bass guitar yesterday, and i can play bombrack and bullet in the head. I want to learn a lot of these riffs.

  • The riff from Wake Up should be in this list, either way still a great set you have created

  • @nmc0007 its Rage, how can it not be great?

  • i love the part in know your enemy at like 2:30

  • brad`s drumming is also amasing!

  • my name is Timmy Childers. and i play bass. oh yea im the next Timmy C lol

  • where is without a face??timmy C is skilled with the bass, though im a guitar player

  • Bullet in ur head was awesome:D

  • Nice stuff...but amazing?

  • @plangentmusic very true. not quite amazing but he is damn good

  • I love Y Tim K ;)

But i prefer Jaco Pastorious and Charlie Mingus.

Go check those out. Jaco is the best funk basssist ever - Tim takes alot of stuff from him.

  • awesome list check this one out watch?v=cGFwmsZwI10

  • One of the most underrated bass players ever

  • theres like a million amazing basslines in know your enemy

  • I'm Housin kick ass :)

  • Flea, duh..

  • Comment removed

  • well sed

  • he's my fav bassman :)

  • flea for sho

  • I have a dilemma. Who is the best out of Flea, Tim or Cliff.

  • @petra678 flea

  • its cliff then tim then flea

  • they're all awesome in their own respects. Flea really gave rise to slap funk (some of his lines are really well known out there). Cliff really added a lot musically to metal bass. and Tim is all around a great bassist, he's still in his prime too as well

  • hes got an awsome tattoo

  • revolver!!! tire me!!!

  • Township Rebellion's bass line is awesome too, it sounds eerie

  • Settle For Nothing

    =

    KICKASS

  • TIMMY C BRING THAT BASS IN..Fuck yeah

  • No joke I play bass and Timmy c is my idol

  • same here

  • i know what you mean, hes a good bass player, but hes creativity is through the roof!

  • THE best bassplayer ever, imo.

  • gotta consider Flea RHCP

  • and consider even more les claypool of primus

  • @Dillbob1 claypools the best '_

  • @guitar2012 I know this comment is old but claypool kicks ass! or should I say he sucks ass :)

  • @KingChile94 HAHA i was so ignorant back then, there are much better bassists out there, but both these guys are undeniably good you must admit!

  • yep you got all of em, great job

    Timmy C...in my opinion...

    the greatest bass tone ever

  • your absolutely right

  • @docsbassist He uses Ampeg SVT 2Pro heads, an 810, two 410. And usually a Fender jazz with a P neck and custom wound pups. Cheers.

  • no shelter is my favorite :)

  • Hey love your riffs!! Put them on Riff Raters iPhone app and get tons more exposure and win the Top Riff Contest!!!

  • its funny cause in rage against the machine most of the time u see him performing with them he starts dancing with his bass its so funny

  • him, Lee, & Flea!

  • Whenever I hear Timmy play, I just start jumping !

  • im debatin on weather or not to buy a bass or guitar any suggestons?????

  • Go with a bass, Not enough bass guitarist's these days.

And you will pick it up fast :)

  • Yeah, Bass, but when you play, you can either be like most bassist in the background, doing nothing but rhythm. Or you can be your own musician and bust out the funkiest shit you can.

  • Mmm, so true!!!

  • get a bass

  • bass is so much fun to play i love the heavy sound and turning it up to where ur house starts rattling

  • fucking correct the reason why i picked up a bass !!! im no legend - but if some day somehow some way i become something imma credit timmmy C

  • master

  • the reason why i got into bass is cuz of this motherfucker right. so bad

  • yea me too. fuckin love em.

  • MOST underrated bass player of all time right here.

  • agree!

  • Woot

  • @spicyMcHAGGIS9green never been under rated

  • @bradscicluna1 He always has been. Doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

  • @spicyMcHAGGIS9green

Timmy C is my hero. Look at my youtube channel man

  • Yep, im housin'

  • Without a face n.1 :D

  • 'TIMMY C...BRING THAT BASS IN!!'..yeah!!.. :D he's awesome..he's the reason why i picked up a bass guitar.. ^^

  • i play bass 2

  • no Township Rebellion :(

  • thats like their best song

  • dude the bass on township rebellion is insane

  • That Know Your Enemy Riff is so crunchy. It's delicious.

  • The louder the Bass the better the song. Fuck the rest ( No offence Tom Morrello , I love you ) I could listen to just him all day.

  • does anybody know what tim commorford puts on his bass to rest when playing his e string? What's it called?

  • It's called a thumb rest. Search "bass thumb rest" on Google or whichever music website you buy from and you can find it (I'd post a link but you can't).

Tim Commerford is one of the better bassists around right now. You always hear him in every song, even when he's following the guitar. Not many bassists do that nowadays.

  • thumb rest, just like BirdRATM said. although some people speculate whether the particular ones that timmy c uses are homemade or not.....

in my opinion they kinda look like theres a lego piece on there lol

  • One of the best, and one of my absolute favourites! People will always be copying riffs of his ;)

  • Great video, except I'm pretty sure most of what you hear during the intro to Bombtrack is Tom's guitar palm muted. You can kind of hear the metallic sound of Tim's bass in the background, though.

  • they're (tim and tom) playing it together, if you ever see it live they're just playing the same notes together... totally owning it.

  • Yeah, you're right. I play electric guitar and bass, and noticed that the tabs were the same for the intro for both guitar and bass. The album mix just heavily emphasizes the guitar part over the bass. I noticed when they play live, they tend to crank the bass up a little louder.

  • yo this is sick. the reason i first picked up a bass was because of young tim c

  • They need to get their asses back in the studio, put out another cd...and make this woman one happy ratm fan.

  • Great vid without doubt, but where are the audioslave solo's?

  • fukk audioslave

  • Fuck YOU for not likeing Audioslave

  • brad wilk and tim commerford together is the only thing this century that compares to entwistle and moon.

  • his sound is so fucking powerful

  • Timmy and Flea for life!

  • the only two bassists that understand the intensity needed for the bass in music.

  • Ooh Tire Me makes my bones chill. this must be his Bead tuned j bass.

  • 2:35 (L)

  • cool (H)

  • best sound in the world...

  • god that overdriven part on know your enemy gets me pumped the fuck up

  • i remember when this guy got mad at Limp Bizkit and climbed on that stage prop and got arrested. lol

  • he bring the beat out of inside of me

  • U can Hate This Guy

    He's The best

Timmy C....... BRING THAT BASS IN!!

  • the black steel line is so raw!

  • No shelter! Timmy C is a really good bassist but tom and zach and chris are superstars so he never gets that much lights

  • who's chris?

  • chris cornell from when they made audioslave

  • His bass is freaking awesome!

  • you mean Brad not chris right?

  • Timmy C is just crazy.

  • tim basically owns at bass. i dont think these small clips can encompass all of his talent. but im glad we all appreciate him

  • wheres bulls on parade?

  • bullet in the head!!!

  • yeah thats a sick bass line

  • calm like a bomb FTW!!!!!111!!!!

  • the best mosh pits are always towards timmy c's side

  • thats coz timmy c is just a brutal kinda mofo

  • that's cus he's the only one in the band who isn't that busy so the crowd decides to entertain him

  • Bombtrack intro is played with muted guitar and bass, but it's the muted guitar you notice the most. not the bass. (They play after the exact same tab)

  • He's the reason that a play bass myself

  • I love his bass part at the beginning of Take the Power Back.

  • you forgot vietnow at the end of the song

  • haven't timmy C play a bass solo on a ratm song? (without clam like a bomb)

  • yeah he's awesome (:

good Idea to make a video from his best riffs! (=

  • Maria is probably my fave... love the 16th note ghosting

  • i think people really under estimate Tim, he is so f*ckin creative! he is one of the many Bass Kings

  • i liked at the mtv video awards when he climbed the scaflting/spelling?/

  • no shelter gets the best riff prize

  • 2:10 Just one note and the octave... the fuckin shit though!!!!!!!

  • not an octave

  • timmy c!!!!!!!

  • timmy c is fuckin savage!

  • one of the most underated bassist......

  • hes my favorite bass player and idol...if that says anything lol
