The US should offer to give Russia it's seat in NATO. Why do we need any troops in Europe? Russia has withdrawn its military forces into their own territory. They pose no threat to anyone in Europe. Let the Europeans, including the Russians, look after their own security and bring our boys home. A European security scheme that excludes Russia in any way makes no sense. I would have nothing against NATO if it were a strictly European continental alliance limited by geographic logic, as long as America is present in such an organization I can feel nothing but hostility from it, Canada's position in the alliance doesn't play as much role in terms of general security.
