Great, but he should've mentioned using those "kid"-style carving knives as an alternative option. They are safer, and we adults use them. Not just for kids. Also, we've been using those kind of candles. The glass keeps the candle wax from melting all over the bottom of the pumpkin and being wasted. Only kind of candles to use.

Tip;

When you can't see the detail and he drew around it, and easier method is just to put a little flour over it and it makes the dots white making them easier to make out :)
