I think of people I knew from MANY years ago, who I really learned from or emulated, who I still think of sometimes today: "what would XXX have done in this situation" and that helps me make decisions or understand or deal with something now. They were in my life for a short time since I haven't seen them since way back then, but they're still 'here' for life. Reason, season AND lifetime.

To me, a reason is shorter than a season. It is immediate and specific, a season takes a minute to get through (a month, a year, a couple of years but not forever) But a reason can be a day. I have have people come into my life and change it completely in one day. They were there for a reason, that wasn't even a season, it was a brief moment.

I'm prolly wired a bit differently than others... but the only people who are really "lifetime" for me is my immediate family. Every other person is for a season. I dont think I could ever put as much importance on someone as I do my wife/children/mother/father. /shrug :D
But forreal, I think that people can beat themselves up after a relationship is over, for they don't understand one's purpose.
We fall in love, head over heels, and then when the person walks away, we can't get it. We're devastated and try to say that the person is "The One."
Sure...they mighta been a great lover/person, but they've served their purpose...it might have hurt or it might have been good. But learn and live. Or the other way around.
Great blog. Some people try to hold on the the seasonal friends and they're not supposed to. The lifetime friends are taken for granted and the real value isn't realized until that friend has stepped out of your life. My thoughts: people need to realize who belongs in what catagory. Not doing so causes a lot of stress and undue drama.....but that's just my opinion. What do I know? ;^)
I agree that there are three purposes; reason, season or lifetime. I think that if someone comes into your life for a reason, whether good or bad, they will affect your life somehow. This may include, you growing spiritually, maturing or just becoming a better person.

i have friends that i have been friends with since i was little, excuse me, littlER lol. some of them i know because we lived in the same neighborhood, well most of us moved from that neighborhood, and dont go to the same school anymore. some of them i dont talk to anymore, some i do. my best friend moved kinda far, but we are still best friends, we hang out almost every weekend and talk on the phone almost everyday. lol i hope she will be around for a lifetime :)
I totally took his vlog a different way than you did. It seems to me that you are looking at S,R&L as periods of time. I looked at S,R&L as the type of information they are trying to teach you.
Reason information is only good for right now. I think it is very specific and it helps you with something you are dealing right now.
Seasonal information is more broad based and is supposed to help you for a certain time period, could be weeks, months or years.
Lifetime information totally changes your entire life. This is the type of information you need to improve your life in all ways so that when you look back at your life the different periods do not look anything alike.
I think the people are just the messengers they only show up when you need them. I still think of the R,S&L as the message not the person so I can't tie anyone to being a R,S,&L. Once you learn the lesson you don't really need that person anymore. That's why they disappear.
Well I will be here for whoever needs me for a lifetime. I am in the same boat as you. I have lost many friends from me moving all over the country, I try to keep in contact with them as much as possible. But there are those I have not found yet. I have not given up nor will I.

lisa, yes forky has to go to one session cause the doctor insists (even though he says he's fine) and by the end of the session, the therapist is the one that needs therapy, he gets all emotional and has a meltdown (and you're the reason) hihi... then i get outta there and do something i think you will find entrtaining.. hehehe

I like your philosophical vids....
