  • Hi Steve, Re;- what was that shooting type noise at 0.55?

The opening sequence of this clip (0.30) was shot on (Boxing Day) 26th Dec 2004. A "Mince Pie Special", hauled by visiting Gresley V2 60800 Green Arrow became the first service train to use Holt's new station and second platform. To celebrate the occasion 10 detonators were placed on the rails to herald the trains arrival. Regards Peter

  • Of all the British steam engines, I love Green Arrow the most.

  • Love that engine!

  • After my brief encounter with her I must say I have a great affection for her too. "Once seen never forgotten"

  • Green Arrow just has such beautiful lines and proportions. I love the scene of it shrouded in steam as it arrives into the station...so majestic.

  • Fine looking locomotive! Is the cylinder still holding out OK?

  • Absolutely! I believe 4771 it's currently at the Nene Valley Railway where her visit has been further extended.

  • brought back so many memories... especially the final shot of the little lad and his dad walking alongside the engine. brilliant. beautiful engine too!

  • Brilliant camera work, nice shots. I have made a video on the north norfolk railway myself, feel free to check it out. but it's not quite as professional as yours!!
