  • What chorus pedal did you engage @ 7:49?

  • @TheRealRayJ Jaques Meistersinger.

  • what's the point of buying an artist's guitar? buy your own standard strat and build your own story!

  • @chorthithian - sure thing, I've got some other Strats. I used it to avoid the hum of the Single Coils so the listener can focus on the Pedal as good as possible. Hope this makes sense. The Clapton Strat has Noiseless Pickups.

  • @HKM67 maxon rto700 overdrive pedal! its the best thing you can get and it has a beautiful noisegate :D

  • How does this compare to a fultone ocd would you say?

  • one of the better sounding o/d pedals i've heard any know the price range for one of these gems??

  • I'm looking for a distortion pedal in which I can play diferent styles. I hate the Metal pedals that sound so "digital" and annoying but still, the genre is something I play with my band.I also like the overdrive sound for other sorts of songs. I was wondering if theres a way you can equalize the sound of this pedal to a closer sound of a distortion one (putting all the gain up, increase the trebel, etc.) but also equalize it to use the sweet overdrive sound it has.

    Thanks!

  • @megatallicadeth dude, check out the Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde pedal. It's 2 pedals in one, with an overdrive side and a distortion side. I use the overdrive side on mine for the typical overdrive sound, but when i do solos, i use both channels together and it gets a GREAT distortion sound, not digital or fake sounding. It really is an outstanding pedal!

feel free to shoot me a PM if you want more info on it, but i'd really recommend trying one out if you can

  • For those asking what the "voice" knob does, it is linked to the gain control and attenuates the low end. The maximum gain is achieved when the voice knob is fully clockwise. The more you turn it counter clockwise the more low end you get but it also limits the gain. The tone knob is used to adjust the high end content.

  • what exactly does the voice knob do?

  • @TheRealErob - it changes the Midrange Characteristic. It always sounds sweet never harsh on any position.

  • Dude you made my day playing back door slam

  • Great tone, with the Pink Floyd stuff man! I am getting more and more sold on this pedal.

  • what does the voice knob do?

  • Zen sounds better warmer w less gain more heavy push to the amp, your Hendrix bit was getting near the pedals best use

Cool amp and major cool Strat !!! I am puzzled as to why Fender keeps using the same cheesy bridge and machine heads on its higher end signature models

I went w Spertzel locking tuners and heavier bridge pieces long ago, still a hyper cool strat and expensive !!! I like the Trower model but hard to find also major bucks

  • nope, its McGruber

  • Is that the theme to MacGyver?

  • a lot of people are getting into hermida pedals lately i got introduced to them when i tried to find the secret to guthrie govans tone and he's been using one lately

  • me too haha

  • What is the title of the song that plays in the beginning?

  • anyhow, great video. :)

  • The intro of this video is great... :)

  • no offense,, but your one out of evry million that hated it

  • no offense man but i tried that zen drive and hated it

  • ive heard that guthrie govan uses this one-and its a really great pedal honestly ive tried one!

  • What is that solo, beginnings 3:08?

  • "Another brick in the wall". Pink Floyd.

  • what kind of delay are you using?

  • It's the small Guyatone Micro Delay.

  • Hi! Can you make a demo of your Visual Sound amp?? Pleaseeeeeeeeee!!!

  • Sorry my friend, you'll have to stick to what you hear in this video because I've sold it to one of my students... anyway it's a good amp. :)

  • Ok, thank you very much anyway!! :)

I'm looking for a very good clean amp to use it as a platform for my pedalboard and so i'm interested in this amp. Thank you again!!

    Paolo form Italy.

  • well I have a ts9 tube screamer and Clapton strat too...and it sound very similar to me....I also have the Fulltone 69 pedal which is sweet...crank the amp and set the volume low on the guitar and adjust accordinly for that sound....In my opinon if your in a band crank the mofo and you will get the sound you want...peace nice demo by the way

  • That was a great ride, I enjoyed it.

Great playing man, nice pedal must have one too.

    Greetings, Danny

  • das fest?

  • what delay pedal are you using and what are the settings when you're playing another brick in the wall pt. 2 ? Great playing man!

  • I used a Guyatone Micro Delay. Can't remember the exact settings but Gilmore Delays sound great at 420ms.

    Cheers

  • That ec strat has the equivilent of a tubescreamer in it, unless that is turned down all the way on these tests it would be like having a tubescreamer right in front of the zendrive. This configuration is what I use, it sounds fantastic. but someone listening to this demo would think that that is what a zendrive ALONE sounds like. Don't get me wrong, it still sounds great.

  • HKM67 (4 months ago)

    No. It's without the boost.

  • The Zendrive has a very different sound to any TS.The only similarity is that they are both OD's, thats it.

Im a big fan of TS pedals, but they completely colour your original tone, where as the Zen works with it,and enhances it. Best OD out there by a mile, they must be made by aliens...Get one.

  • The Zendrive based on the TS. It only has some modifications in the gain feedback.

  • Thats total nonesense, I have a TS9 and a zendrive in my pedal board and hands down the Zen wipes the TS9. Zens are way more effective and far more versatile.

  • I wrote that it based on the TS schematics, not that it had the same sound. Google for the schematics of both and see how little the differences are. You need only a few parts and a pot to build a Zen from a TS.

  • with the zendrive cascading into the ts9 yields a smooth Santana like tone, Though the ts9 by itself I am not to impressed with

  • That and the Fulltone OCD...i have both...and ia cant decide wich one is better :D My TS808 lost his spot in my pedalboard to this 2 monster pedals...so...dont get the Zendrive...get both the Zen and the OCD!

  • The OCD can not touch the warmth of the Zendrive

  • Man i wish i had a zendrive!

  • Very nice Strat tones! I enjoyed your video!

  • nice one

  • Is the mid boost of your EC strat turned on?

  • No. It's without the boost.

  • Not bad but I prefer the Okk Diablo... matter of taste I guess. To me this thing sounds like a pedal, the Okko sounds like an amp.

  • The Zendrive is more like a pedal but also no compression, amazing dynamics and some unique magic of it's own. Really sweat at low gain soloing. :)

  • Yep the higher gain stuff is where it sounds weaker to me. People are asking a fortune for that pedal... isn't it just another high-end TS variation?

  • No it is not a TS Clone. I have the best TS on my board (the Keeley modded) and I hardly ever use it anymore because of the Zendrive.

It's not explainable it's just magic with this pedal. It also complements any amp I've played it with. Maybe that's why it is so succesfull. Still it is an Overdrive limited to low gain stuff. The OKKO is the pedal for HighGain old Marshall sounds.

  • as far TS Clones go the Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive is miles ahead of the rest including the original

  • Thanks for the vids! I just picked up a Pony also, and think it's great. Do you enjoy the Jekyll and Hyde that came with the amp, or do you just use the Okko and Zendrive?

    Thanks again!

  • The Jekyll & Hyde Pedal ist certainly a good pedal at the price but does not compare to the quality and finesse of these two pedals.

But you'll have to find out for yourself. ;)

    Cheers and thx

  • Awesome. Thanks for this. I have a Pony, and I just picked up a Zendrive off of ebay. Sounds great, I can't wait for my Zendrive to get here.

  • Thanks for taking the time, I've found that elixir strings suck out tone like a cheap cable, just my opinion.

  • Actually the strings are great. They last extremly long and sound brilliant. The setting is just not a sustain rich one. It's like playing a Blackface with a Strat. The strings sound totally different over a Marshall or a High Gain Amp. But in the end it's all only matter of taste. :)

  • Let me hear a Workhores amp's clean sound.(In variety of settings)

    Please..........

  • I'll try to do this later. Just a matter of time. thx

  • Sweet... What a great pedal. I just got an email that my Zendrive was ready. Alf doesnt respond to email very quickly. Anyway, very nice rig and very nice tone.

What was that at 7:50? (wow, chorus and delay?)

What does the workhorse sound like maxed out?

  • I'm glad you liked it. Have you noticed the dynamics at 7:50! Gain is maxed out and it's almost a clean sound just a reduced guitar volume.

Chorus: Jaques Meistersinger, Delay: Guyatone MD3, and from 8.30 it's the Lovepedal Vibe.

The amp ist very loud, very well build. You can use it maxed out with no problem as it has probably the most linear rising volume I've ever experienced. THX
