@jejesdad Did you watch the Michigan vs ND game? ND dominated until the 4th qtr. They blew every game up to MSU they had 500 yards on you guys and all the other teams they played. ND averages about 400 + yds a game, Against MSU they had less then 250. So MSU's defense is good but i dont think they are #1 definitly but its by far better then most in the big ten.
Remember last year? MSU barley beat ND, and Michigan dominated ND. Guess what MSU whooped on Michigan still.

Michigan will have a pass rush this fall which should help. It will be a tough game. Had Crist been in there we probably would have lost. We couldn't stop him last year. @westons44 no way in hell is Tommy Rees going to be the starter!! he was an EE who got in the mix ahead of Andrew Hendrix. He's slow and cannot throw the ball well or make quick decisions, he almost lost the SC game for us with his int's. Crist is somewhat mobil and has a cannon of an arm, but two years in a row he went down with season ending injuries. Hendrix is the one who you need to watch out for, he can run really well and has a lot of zip on his throws.

I mean he does have an undefeated record, but while ESPN likes to say he's in the mix...no way does he see the field as a starter!! I also think it is VERY doubtful you see Golson, at least early on in the season. He is perfect for Kelly's offense- a very skilled runner with a hell of an arm. and Kelly is letting the defenders light him and Hendrix up in practice...lol!!

You do know Kelly runs a passing spread, like Purdue used to when Drew Brees was there (and like New Orleans does now with Drew Brees, actually), and not a read-option spread like Rich Rod. @jejesdad Did you watch the Michigan vs ND game? ND dominated until the 4th qtr. They blew every game up to MSU they had 500 yards on you guys and all the other teams they played. ND averages about 400 + yds a game, Against MSU they had less then 250. So MSU's defense is good but i dont think they are #1 definitly but its by far better then most in the big ten.
Remember last year? MSU barley beat ND, and Michigan dominated ND. Guess what MSU whooped on Michigan still.

Crist led the Irish on a 71-yard, 13-play drive to start the game, doing most of the work by completing 5 of 7 passes and carrying three times for 30 yards before sneaking in for the TD.

On the next series, he hit passes of 17 and 11 yards to Michael Floyd to get Notre Dame to the 6 before the Irish settled for David Ruffer's 24-yard field goal. you couldnt handle Crist, WORSE than ND's defense could handle drob- oh and you didnt have the good fortune to play ND's top 5 ranked defense.

@westons44 no way in hell is Tommy Rees going to be the starter!! he was an EE who got in the mix ahead of Andrew Hendrix. He's slow and cannot throw the ball well or make quick decisions, he almost lost the SC game for us with his int's. Crist is somewhat mobil and has a cannon of an arm, but two years in a row he went down with season ending injuries. Hendrix is the one who you need to watch out for, he can run really well and has a lot of zip on his throws.

I mean he does have an undefeated record, but while ESPN likes to say he's in the mix...no way does he see the field as a starter!! I also think it is VERY doubtful you see Golson, at least early on in the season. He is perfect for Kelly's offense- a very skilled runner with a hell of an arm. and Kelly is letting the defenders light him and Hendrix up in practice...lol!!

@TheNandnvideos our QB went out injured and Tommy couldnt pick it up. couldnt tell you why we couldnt get the avg 35 points scored on your 'team' - um just was an INCOMPLETE team in every meaning of the word! we should have easily scored 40 in 3 quarters- um doesnt have an answer for floyd, wood, crist anyone on the offense. and you didnt play ND's 5th ranked defense last year, so I'm looking forward to that- Te'o, EJ, KLM, Nix, Smith, Gray and others- ND is going to light up UM

Do the numbers 22-15 mean anything to you ND fan, that is the advantage in the all-time series in advantage of the Big Blue. In fact Michigan leads Notre Dame in almost every important category wins UM 884 ND 846, win pct, UM .735, ND .733. Michigan also has the advantage over Notre Dame in Undefeated seasons and winning seasons all-time 23 undefeated seasons for Michigan, Notre Dame N/A and 112 winning seasons for Michigan, Notre Dame N/A.

Speed absolutely kills. Hoke is gonna have a ton of speed on offense, lets hope he can do something with it. If he can he should be alright. Denard has got to be one of the top 5 fastest kids in college football at this point. if he can improve on his passing game, he'll be unstoppable. And since he did show improvement from his Freshmen to Sophmore seasons, there is no reason to believe that he won't be an even better passer his Junior season. Looking forward to 2011. GO BLUE.

@irishfan84 Golson is the perfect QB for kelly's offense? You do know Kelly runs a passing spread, like Purdue used to when Drew Brees was there (and like New Orleans does now with Drew Brees, actually), and not a read-option spread like Rich Rod. Golson would be "the perfect QB" for Rich Rod's spread. But Brian Kelly doesn't have a clue how to use a guy like Golson, because Golson ain't a Drew Brees.
And Talk about Robinson's throwing motion some more. Top 20 passer rating=you're an idiot.

@dustomatic1974 Yes. you've successfully repeated what i said. Golson is insanely accurate and has an incredible arm, watch his videos he can throw a 40 yard ball, whilst on the run, on a dime! You most likely wont see Golson in the out house this year though, but he'll be in the mix throughout

Secondly, do you know what passer rating, or "Passing Efficiency Rating, is? It's a formula to equalize statistics. A higher rating = better passer. Rushing statistics by the same player mean absolutely nothing in relation.
Something tells me you've never actually attended ND, because you're not very smart.

beyond 10 yards drob cant pass for shit though, and I'll bet no um fan is willing to admit that, but oh how true that is!!! the thing about our D is that it greatly improved last year against much better talent- this year the two deep is insane and most likely couple of them could start for other D1 teams. as for the D- 3-4 ND's perfected it and with Nix clogging up the middle- theres going to be many more sacks this year-

I mean um has no defense, no offense, no ST- basically a JV team, and giving up something like 35 or so points a game- atrocious!! Thank god our D is on point and we have Floyd back, Manti, Calabrese, Smith and Gray, and some incredible freshmen- i dont want to jinx us, but I smell a BCS win! Auburn was 8-5 2 years ago, ND was 8-5 last year....uh ohh

@dustomatic1974 I didnt compare anything but the records. we dont have a Fairley, but we do have a Manti, we dont have a Cam, but we do have a Crist who can throw, Hendrix who can run and throw, and Golson who is a better drob than drob is :) but ND also has one of the best defenses in the country- worst case scenario, ND wins 12 games and doesnt get a shot at the NC...because theyre ND- the only team on ND's schedule that can beat ND, is ND themselves. sorry.

@dustomatic1974 as for Manti....it was probably holding- I mean UM's coaches coach holding like it's their job! and Manti is straight up better than anyone on UM's defense, and that day the 4th or 5th best player on the field behind floyd, rudy, i guess drob- lol imagine the outcome if Floyd got his #s, only 5 catches 66 yards, 0tds- Crist should have had 300+ yards if he was healthy
