The book is a lengthly discussion praising realpolitik. Realpolitik means not letting morality (or ideology) play a part in political decisions. Its a valid philosophy, but not when you use it to justify war crimes like HK does! HK is an ass.

Seems to me that you didnt read the book. Kissinger goes over and over about the place of morality and ideology in realist politics: they are long term goals to achieve through policies that are the result of a careful and pragmatic examination of the international situation. At least thats what Kissinger says, though hes probably full of shit.
