First time I've ever heard Barrowman. Not fond of his tone. Nice emotion but there's something...unprofessional about his voice. Don't know what it is...maybe too much of a pop edge? Can't put my finger on it...
And you know that I'm not a trained singer how, exactly?
*amused* And, BTW, the BBC called Barrowman's voice "featureless" when they reviewed his last album. "There's no performance here," Eamon Stack writes, "It's karaoke meets the Stepford Wives...If I was on a lift having this pumped in at me, I'd be tempted to cut the cables." So, I'm not the only one that doesn't worship the ground Barrowman trods upon...
I never said I worship him. Adore yes. Worship no.
I'm a fan...I made a thirty hour trip give or take to see him (sadly it's when he hurt his ankle so he wound up not being able to come) and I think he is superb in stage and screen.
And I never said you weren't a trained singer...I said not famous. IF you are and I've offended you then I'm sorry.
Oh, it was absolutely beautiful!! You should have seen the set - incredible! And Glenn was fantastic. Actually, I liked the music from this show more than I liked the music from "Phantom"!
How can you not love John Barrowman's voice? I think he's a great talent and not bad looking either.

Did John ever play Joe Gillis on stage? If he never did, he would be wonderful in the role.

Yes he did. At least twice I believe.
In his book 'Anything Goes' there is a picture of him with his poster outside the theater in the UK.

Thank you! I completely agree. I'm not a fan of his voice at all. I really don't understand the hype about him.

Yes and that's why he's the famous singer and you aren't.
John studied and trained for many years. His voice is very proffesional.

I believe that every person has the right to their opinion but isn't music, of any sort, beyond professionalism?

I love this song because it's so reminiscent of old-time movie love songs, and appropriate to the Sunset Blvd. story.

This is one of my very favorite songs...
I saw "Sunset Blvd" on Broadway - (with Glenn Close) - this was the best song from the show, in my opinion. Can anyone post a video of this scene?

You saw Sunset with Gleen in the cast. I am so jealous.

Absolutely the most shuddery romantic song ever, made all the more better by John's melt-worthy voice! Am in love with it - and him and proud!
