Wormwood Scrubs Fairground. Late 60's. Get on up you Shepherd's Bush skinheads! Still love those tonic suits. Played this over and over and over...Wee portable 45 player. Always makes me tingle. Sadly lost my copy. Ferris wheel on b side. Got original Gas piano version 45 now. Thanks Lovely Bro!.
My favourite of ALL time... of ALL music. This Man has Voice!
@Doubleringer Yep. In Devon where I grew up, the roving fairgrounds played wicked reggae all the time. Obviously it was "The Whip" on The Whip ride. Also recall "Come Into My Parlour" (The Bleechers) but don't recall the ride name.
Thanks AmadeusD. I've listened to Pat's version over and over. I will have to settle for "In alone was the hex I feel, so I ask..." I'm guessing that Jeff must have changed 'hex' to 'fright'.
you needed to hear this treble cream when it was fres in the 60s, and to be one of the chosen few who were turned on. because there werent many ,otherwise this would have stayed at number one for 3 months.
i look back and feel gratefull that i knew this would not reach nimber 1 because the country was not ready to be turned on by the phenominal sweetness of this sound, but I wasm, and felt the fullness of pat kelly and the band.
@hippiefeef when i first listened to this track i knew it was special, and over 40 years later i have never heard a better track, How long ,Perfection.
Takes me back tothe Mecca in Blackpool circa 1969,Fuck if only we could go back ,if even for a day.

My heart and I
It alone knows the hex I bear. So I asked. How long ong ong will it take me to be your man again.
As I try my best not to sigh
I still feel the tears on my face.
Voice of an angel...sweet as a nut.

Can someone please tell me what the next line is after 'my heart on high...'?
Please!
Destinysounds 2 years ago
My heart on high. Get a low with the hex I feel; so I have. How long...is what it sounds like
keith6400 2 years ago
Blessed Keith6400! I think you've cracked it. Unless Mr Kelly comes and says otherwise, we'll take that as gospel. Thank you very much!
Destinysounds 2 years ago
"so alone in hte fright i feel so i ask, how long.. how long..."
Is the correct lyrics. Please don't take the other as gospel. It doesn't even make sense". It's fairly obvious if you hear the Jeff Buckley version.

Still sounds great after 41 years! What a great tune from summer 1968, I was six years old! Man the memories this brings back.
